We had a wonderfully relaxing long weekend at Anam Cara. Gerry met us on arrival to show us around, and was extremely welcoming & helpful - we knew he was only a call away if we needed anything (we didn't!). The place was clean, spacious & well-equipped. We loved that you could leave the house breezy and open with the grill doors while still feeling secure at night. The best feature of all is the fantastic verandah, where we spent most of our time bird-watching from the hammock or just enjoying the spectacular view of the valley and Northern Range. Hummingbirds came to the feeder and macaws flew over the valley in front of us. We enjoyed an easy hike to the beautiful pools along the Acono River which is just 2 minute drive away (we didn't reach the gorge and larger waterfalls as we had small children with us, but they are also close by). We were just 4 adults, but it would be excellent value for money if you had a larger group.

I must say, it was an experience beyond expectations! this paradise of a palace came with exceptional service provided by our host Gerry. Their attention to detail in ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of the space was evident, and we immediately felt relaxed and welcomed. The home was surrounded by sweet fruit trees, bird songs, & soft wild life with a stunning view of the island. Theres an old cocoa farm and museum; plus a clear water river to hang out by just walking distance from the home. Additionally, Gerry's role as our tour guide, provided safety and his willingness to share insights and recommendations added immense value to our trip. Incredibly accommodating and flexible with our schedule, making sure that we could make the most of our time without any stress or hassle. Highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a top-notch experience, and I look forward to returning in the future. Thank you, Gerry, for making our trip truly special! Gerry's place is Exactly what we needed for a secluded spot to hang with friends and not have to worry about making too much noise nor complaints from neighbours. Very picturesque and nature-oriented, with beautiful views of the mountainside. The house itself is super spacious and simple. A lot of value for your money! There's even space and wood for a bonfire 🔥 but it had recently rained so we couldn't take advantage :( Gerry himself is a really friendly host and very accommodating of our requests. The last 100ft of the drive is steep but our cars made it fine when in low gear and proceeding slowly. Overall, we loved it and would 100% stay again if we're looking for an out-of-the-way spot in nature to bond with friends/fam.
