Cottage at the Star Gate Motel The House or also know as the Cottage at Star Gate Motel is a 2 bedroom house located on the South side of the Motel. One of the bedrooms has a Queen bed and the other a full and Twin. In the living room is a couch that folds out to a queen bed. In total, this cottage can sleep 7 people. High speed internet, great coffee, Cable and a smart TV that allows you to log into your favorite app and continue watching where you left off. The Cottage is equipped with a fully functioning kitchen, dishes and kitchen basics. The bathroom has a Bath/Shower combo perfect for families with young children.

Great cottage with ample room. Clean and very inviting. Perfectly located near ORV trails which is why we were in the area. Plenty of parking for trailers. Looking forward to our next stay.

The cottage was as described in the listing. It was clean, warm, and comfortable.
There were 7 brothers and sisters of ours on a trip to Mackinaw Island and we wanted something on a budget. Typical Airbnbs around the Mackinaw city is way too high. Elizabeth's motel came to our rescue. The price was very affordable for two nights for 7 people. The kitchen had everything for us to cook our meals. The bathroom had enough linens, soaps, shampoo and conditioner. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets and sheets. The living room had enough furniture. The wifi was good. Netflix, Disney plus was a pleasant plus. Just one thing I would recommend is to change the Teflon non-stick pans and replace them with cast iron pans if possible. I will definitely come back again. Thank you Elizabeth for hosting us.
Upon our arrival we were greeted by Elizabeth and her lovely daughters. They were so helpful and gracious. We immediately felt at home. We loved the cottage. It was outfitted in period appropriate decor which we found magnificent. Anyone who appreciate thee mid-century modern era will fund the cottage something akin to stepping into a time capsule. Both bedrooms were clean and comfortable with soft cotton sheets and quality pillows. The cottage was spacious and well-appointed in every well. We offer our highest rating to this gem of an overnight!

Star Gate Motel is located less than a mile from Downtown Indian River. It has direct access to the Snowmobile and ATV trails and is within walking distance from a bike trail that leads to the North Central bicycle trail. With plenty of parking space, we can accommodate boats, large trailers and utility vehicles. Star Gate Motel is also within a mile from the Cross in the Woods, Burt Lake State Park and the public boat launch.

Stewart is a full time pharmacist while Elizabeth is owner operator of Lochmoor Hospitality that manages and owns multiple AirBNB listings across Michigan. We have an incredible team of people that help us to be the best possible hosts we can be. Teri does most of the communication with our guests while we have a team of people in place to insure that every room/property is clean and well maintained. We like to do all sorts of outdoor activities such as camping, running and kayaking. We enjoy meeting guests from all over and it is our pleasure to host you for your stay! We are highly responsive to our guests. We usually respond within minutes and almost always takes a call.
