That’s bound to be your response on arrival at Casino di Sala, a cluster of stone buildings that looks out on an amphitheatre of vineyards in the heart of Chianti. The unpacking can wait – flop on one of the benches in the central courtyard and just drink it all in. We suspect you’ll spend a lot of time on this flower-filled terrace. It’s a convivial space, with a large, shaded dining area. Off here, you’ll find the entrances to your two lodgings – a four-bedroom house and one-bedroom converted barn. Step inside the main house to discover a dining room with a table big enough for a large party. There is a raised kitchen to the rear and an open arch on one side that leads down to a sequence of cosy sitting rooms with comfy sofas and armchairs. One room is set around a hearth, one centres on a piano, and one is a TV room. There’s a lovely lived-in feel about this villa, with shelves of books, pretty ornaments, and pictures on the walls. A sunny yellow canvas bears occasional splashes of contrasting colour, and floral fabrics and antique furnishings add more warmth. Upstairs there are four good-sized en-suite double bedrooms, one of which can convert to a twin. The master suite has a separate living area with a window on the spectacular view. The final en-suite double bedroom can be found in the converted stone barn on the other side of the courtyard. It also has a comfy living and dining area with a kitchenette and a private patio. You’ll also have access to a private gym, a second large kitchen-diner, and the terraced garden below. There you’ll find a huge infinity pool with a large sundeck and shady pergola, extra vantage points for taking in the fabulous view. There are wineries and hilltop towns to explore among those dreamy rolling hills before you, but perhaps they can wait until tomorrow.  The owner lives on site and will be happy to help if you need anything.  They have two friendly dogs which freely roam onsite.
