Come enjoy the magic of our stunning, spacious, serene house and garden, with a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by vineyards and forests, in a lovely village with a boulangerie, far away from it all, yet 10 minutes by car from a big shopping centre and Lons le Saunier, the capital of the Jura. Lakes, rivers, forests,cycling,kayaking,gorging,horseriding, skiing on your doorstep/short drive away. Lots of culture: music, expositions, theatre, cinema. Great restaurants in nearby villages/Lons This is a very spacious, comfortable, peaceful and beautiful family home, recently renovated. See attached photos with headings. *** PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A BIG DEEP POND IN THE GARDEN (SEE PHOTOS), UNFENCED - PARENTS MUST WATCH CHILDREN, AND NOT ALLOW PETS TO JUMP IN.*** The available accommodation is 4 beautiful spacious double bedrooms and 1 small comfortable double bedroom with its own lovely balcony overlooking the garden, see photos: BATHROOMS: 2. One en-suite; one separate. TOILETS: 3 toilets in the house, and 3 toilets outside (two dry ones) . SITTING ROOM: There is a stunning and very big sitting room with a billiard table, a piano and a fire place, giving out on the terrace leading to the garden. DINING ROOM: There is a lovely, elegant dining room, with a beautiful view on the garden and sunsets to die for... SUMMER KITCHEN: In summer, there is an attractive and spacious rustique summer kitchen, fully equipped, with a big table and two fridges and a dishwasher. SWIMMING POOL: We have a beautiful swimming pool, which can be heated at extra charge (we have not had the need to do so as it gets very warm here in summer). CHILDREN ARE TO BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES BY THEIR PARENTS. There is a small building next to the swimming pool which can also be used as a kitchen - it remains very cool in summer and has lovely views.

We had a great time at Eliza's in Gevingney. The house and garden are gorgeous and also the pool is very big and clean. There is a large summer kitchen with refrigerator which we were allowed to use. The kitchen had everything you could want! Same applies to the own bathroom and bedroom - there is everything you might need! Eliza is a great host and gave us many tips on what to do in the area. We definitely recommend booking this airbnb- thank you Eliza for the wonderful time!
We hebben een ontzettend fijn verblijf gehad bij Eliza! Het huis en de tuin zijn prachtig. We waren er tijdens een hittegolf en hebben dus veel gebruik gemaakt van het zwembad en de tuin. Eliza is erg gastvrij en sociaal. Een aanrader voor als je in de Jura bent!
Eliza est une belle personne, agréable et très chaleureuse.
Prima verblijf gehad waarbij gelijk een vriendschappelijke band met de host aanwezig was. Mooie grote tuin met diverse zitplaatsen. We waren er maar kort en hebben geen gebruik gemaakt van een prima zwembad. We mochten onze vouwwagen zelfs in de schuur stallen. Kan deze locatie aanraden.
We had a great stay at Eliza’s home. We enjoyed the hammocks, the pool and the rocking sofa in the garden, played pool in the sittingroom and pétanque in the park. You could easily stay at the house for a couple of days and do just these things and relax or go on a hike just walking out the door into the hills. But there’s plenty to see and do in the area too if you’re willing to drive a little. Go to ‘le regardoir’ for instance: a restaurant with stunning views of Lac Vouglans which Wliza recommended. We had 6 days and didn’t have enough time to enjoy everything to the fullest. We might just come back and take the kids with us. Not just to swim more and see more but also the see Eliza again!

GET AWAY FROM IT ALL: the Jura is known for its beautiful, unspoilt landscape, with relatively few tourists.
Indeed, this is a truly wonderful area, waiting for you to be explored:
quiet, green, it has lakes, rivers (kayaking etc), gorges (fabulous gorging adventures), forests, mountains (Jura and then Alps further away), cycling routes.
The closest lake is at 20 minutes by car from us. Bikes can be hired 10 minutes away by car, kayaks at a river 30 minutes away. The most stunning gorging adventure is possibly that at the Gorges de la Langouette, less than one hour by car from us.
At the same time, we are in a little friendly village with its own bakery (within 2 minutes walking distance from us and most delicious croissants!), and 10 minutes away by car to a big, attractive shopping centre with shops ranging from 2 very good supermarkets (Hyper-U and Grand Frais) to clothes/furniture/optician/sports (hire of all kinds)/fishing equipment shops.
We are also 15 minutes away by car from a very pleasant and cheerful small town, Lons le Saunier, the administrative capital of the Jura, with its theatre, cinemas, music venues (brilliant music, including Jazz - check out Le Boeuf sur le Toit and its Darious Club) and bars, restaurants and very good shops all around!
There are no parking problems, you will always find space: and the first hour is free at all the several paying carparks.
The surrounding villages and small towns are all very pretty and worth while visiting: Château-Chalon and Baume-les-Messieurs at 20 minutes away from us by car are especially and truly wonderful. Many of these villages and towns have also excellent restaurants.
Cross-country skiing is MARVELLOUS here, the closest big area at 40 minutes away (Prénovel). Downhill skiing is also available, 1 hour 15 minutes away by car (Les Rousses closest; Métabief the other direction).
Lots of horseriding in the neighbourhood, including riding schools of course.
As for mountain bikes lover, you will be DELIGHTED with the variety of trails, including freeride, downhill, enduro, as well as an abundance of XC riding throughout the region.
We are 1 hour 20 minutes away by car from Lyon airport; and 1 hour 50 minutes away from Geneva airport.
Calais Eurotunnel is 5 hours 40 minutes away.
Possible also to come by train from Paris: TGV to Dôle, 2 hours 30 minutes; then a local bus to Lons-le-Saunier (journey time by bus varies according to the time of the day: between 1 to 2 hours). For guests without a car, we could pick you up at the station 15 minutes away by car from our place.
Please notify host/housekeeper of approximate arrival time. The housekeeper will be at property to meet you.
At our place, ample parking in the forecourt, on gravel. Lons le Saunier plenty of parking, as mentioned above, free first hour even at official parking. One really need a car to get around: there are buses from the village into town, but they go only a few times a day and stop in the evening.
