Juneau stands on one of the largest wilderness areas in the United States. Here you can spend your time viewing wildlife, taking the fishing trip of your life, exploring atop glaciers or enjoying the city’s shops, restaurants and artistic flare. With plenty of weekend events, concerts and festivals - there is always something to do, no matter the time of year. The Halibut House is just 15 minutes from the Eaglecrest Ski Area, Juneau’s community-owned and operated ski area with big mountain terrain, 1620′ vertical drop, 640+ acres, impressive backcountry access, untracked powder, and hardly a lift line! In the summertime, check out go-to visitor spots such as the Mendenhall Glacier (just a 20 minute drive) or walk 10 minutes to visit the world famous whale sculpture, Takhu and enjoy the ocean breeze as you perouse the newly constructed seawalk.

Amazing place.
Adam's home was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay in Juneau. The views from the home were amazing and we enjoyed watching the bald eagles through the windows while we relaxed. The location is great as far as ease of getting to downtown and into Auke Bay. Very simple and easy check-in and checkout. Adam was very responsive and helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay.
House was exactly as described, the views are beautiful and the location is very close to all Juneau has to offer. It is on a busy road so if you are a light sleeper, be prepared for road noise. Some rooms had fans that helped a bit. I feel like it could use a really good deep clean.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family’s stay at Adam’s place. The beds were comfortable and the home was well stocked with essential items. During the day the road noise could be loud if the windows were open, but in evenings and at night it was quite calm and pleasant. Great location. Would stay here again.
Great place! Very helpful and communicated promptly. Also recommended some good hikes and spots to try out!!

Parking is off street and next to the house, plenty of space for up to three vehicles. Downtown is less than a 5 minute drive and is a walkable distance as well.

I first fell in LOVE with Juneau during a family vacation in my teen years. As Ashley tells the story I would often talk about moving to Alaska for our next great adventure. In 2012 I checked my work email and to my surprise, there was a new opportunity to relocate to Juneau!! I showed the email to Ashley and she said "Let's go". We sold everything and were on a plane a month later... and haven't regretted it for a moment. We love everything about Juneau! The views, the community, the remoteness, the seafood.... and did I mention the VIEWS!?!?! We are here to give you a local perspective on Juneau. We can make recommendations on everything from tour excursions, hiking trails (if you ask for recommendation, please include your level of fitness and how adventurous you are), hidden gems (don't like 20,000 tourists... hint neither do we. We can help you find the off the beaten path beaches and sights that you likely won't find on your own). We were looking at a few unique properties around town in late April. Ashley loved a house near downtown, and as they say "Happy wife, Happy life". We had planned to put an offer on the downtown house that day. We saw postings online that there was a humpback whale feeding in the harbor in Auke Bay. We rushed that way and spent the next 2 hours enjoying a beautiful blue sky day with a humpback whale we affectionately named "Herbert". I pointed out a house overlooking the harbor and told Ashley that they have sandwiches and sweet tea at the open house. So we stopped for lunch. On this serendipitous day we stopped for lunch and a brief tour and I fell in love with the property. Ashley still had her heart set on the other home. We called our realtor and asked for a 3rd viewing of the downtown home. What we found was astonishing. We had just left Auke Bay and the temperature gauge on my car read 71 degrees. As we went up the hill to the other property we felt a chill and there was still snow on the ground. The gauge in my car read 39 degrees. We never went on that 3rd tour. We made an offer on the Auke Bay home and have loved living in the driest and sunniest area of Juneau ever since. If you happen to see Herbert, make sure to tell him we said hello.
