Security gated, no interior house cameras, quiet and peaceful with a very short walk to the village square, market, bars and restaurants as well as old historic church of the village of Rio Grande. 150 yr"latin-cowboy tradition" lives in this town and the property is built on a piece of the old family ranch of many years prior. Main house patio & entrance overlooks a scenic view of two distant volcanoes. Enjoy mangos at the right times of year. Area is famous for breezes & temperate climate. This house was built with couples or family living in mind. There is a comfortable one level interior which has quality construction, sturdy and new furniture and appliances. The patio deck is a pleasant way to sit with coffee or tea and read or converse while enjoying the view and pleasant weather.

We had a wonderful time. We stayed here because we were close to family in the area, that being said it would be a great place to stay regardless. Maribel was very responsive and an excellent host. Thank you for everything. We would definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay. Maribel took the time to orient my on the town and the surrounding area, helped me find services,, set up cleaning people and just generally was an excelent host. And a very nice person. The house was very comfortable and well appointed with every thing I needed for a 6 week stay. I would stay there again

We had a wonderful time staying at this place. It is very safe and also with complete privacy, detached from the main property. Our host, Maribel was kind enough to show us around and also offered to take us around if needed.

This space was well appointed and SUPER comfortable. The kitchen had everything one could need, even for a much longer stay. The views are great. The plants and fruit trees were a lovely addition, and the host advised we could pick and eat from them (though many of them were not quite in season). Dealt entirely with Maribel and Andrea, who were both very communicative and helpful. They responded quickle, and were just so gracious and kind. The location is just a few minutes from Atenas up the hill--great for something close but without being in the din. There's a gas station, farmacia, and market less than a minute down the hill from the house. The outside porch had ceiling fans and very comfortable rocking chairs, which made it a perfect place to sit in the evenings. Highly recommend if you're going to be anywhere near Atenas during your stay!

Our hosts were away during our visit however very responsive to any emails! Very comfortable house however some street noise as highway goes thru. The veranda could use a hammock for those afternoons staying at house. Local transportation easy to use if do not mind buses and do not have a car, like us! House clean however could use a good cleaning in corners, under furniture and cabinets. Very much enjoyed our stay, thank you

We are a far enough away from the National Highway 27 to be peaceful and quiet, but conviently accessible.
Several typical Costa Rica prepared food, ceviche bar and burger/fried chicken & even gourmet vegetarian restaurants are within a very short walk from the house as well as a grocery market, two taverns, and park gardens. Lovely fresh bakery goods are prepared daily in two bakery establishments within a 2 minute walk.
A good auto repair shop is located nearby the property as well as a modern gasoline station with a miniMart and separate pharmacy by the connector road to the main highway 27 leading to the Pacific Ocean which is only 30 minutes away by car.
Nearby bus stops give access to Central Atenas or choose to enjoy a 2 mile walk to the Friday Farmers vegetable Market located up the hill. Also walking distance is the historic train station across the bridge of highway (pista) 27.

There is are 2 local bus stops within a 5 minute walk next to one of the bar/restaurants or by the park. There are frequent taxis traveling up the radial road leading to the central town of Atenas as well as to the fresh produce market which is conviently held every Friday at the top of the hill on the way to Atenas Centrale.
