A characteristic 180 year barn conversion retaining it’s charm with beams, natural stone walls and that all important wood burner. This beautiful detached character gite with parking, private terrace and garden is in the heart of the Aveyron and yet only 5 kms from the shops and bars of the market village of Rignac. It is situated in a small hamlet surrounded by beautiful open countryside and ideally located for visiting the many historical sites. The perfect place to explore and unwind I have furnished the gite to give a homely feel with your comfort in mind and I know that cooking is probably not on the top of your list but I have equipped the kitchen with everything you should need should you become fed up with being waited on in the local restaurants. Both double bedrooms have vaulted ceilings one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. Downstairs the living and kitchen area is open plan with two settees and dining room table and chairs comfortably seating four people.Two double patio doors lead onto your private patio with table and chairs and a barbecue where you can sit out on a warm evening and barbecue until your heart’s content. The lounge also has exposed beams and a glass fronted wood burner ideal for those chilly autumn breaks. We have provided DVDs to watch, music CDs to play and books to read to recharge your batteries. The TV has French & English channels. I have placed in the gite a cool box and picnic set if you prefer to eat outside. You have two private gardens in which to sit in and sun loungers are provided but, if all that relaxing in the sun gets a bit too much you could always eat your lunch on the picnic bench under your very own willow tree. There is also a children's playpen, cot and highchair available if required just to make life just a little easier!

Logement agréable dans un hameau, dans une maison séparée en 2 gîtes, à proximité de la maison des hôtes qui sont très gentils et réactifs. Terrasse avec barbecue et jardinet devant la maison avec table de pique-nique, un 2e petit jardin séparé du 1er par un petit chemin (terrain non clos), les enfants ont apprécié les visites d'un petit écureuil dans le jardin ! Cuisine plutôt bien équipée, lits confortables, plein de petites choses agréables : des jeux pour les enfants, des informations sur le coin avec conseils sur quoi faire ... Rivière (l'Aveyron) baignable à 10-15 minutes de voiture (très appréciable en canicule !), jolis villages avec un très chouette château à visiter à 10 min de voiture, très belles randonnées (prévoir 10-15 minutes de voiture)...
Très bon gite dans un hameau très paisible pour ceux qui recherchent la tranquillité.
Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable chez Lynne. L'endroit est ravissant, en pleine campagne, extrêmement paisible avec de très belles randonnées autour.
Location très agréable et au calme
Séjour très agréable au gîte bien équipé de Lynne situé dans la campagne, au calme, accompagné du chant mélodieux des oiseaux. C’est un véritable havre de paix. Accueil chaleureux. Je recommande !

The regions' landscape changes with every turn of the road. From deep river valleys and undulating hills to distant views of nearby mountains. This landscape covers the lower valley of the Lot, the gorges and the valley of the Aveyron.
The regional food of foie gras, aligot and stockfisch are a must to be tried and if you get bored of eating you could always pop into the Marcillac and Gaillac wine caves for a snifter or two!
There is a weekly market in the bastide town of Villefranche de Rouergue which is said to be the best in the region, or you could book a canoe for an hour, 1/2 day/whole day just to cruise through the Gorges of the Aveyron. There are lots of walks in the area I can recommend or translate for you.
The Aveyron department is steeped in history and has something for everyone.
The world famous bridge at Millau, the eagles at Rocamadour, the skiing in the Aubrac mountains, the wolves being fed in the grounds of the chateau Colombiers, the cheese caves of Roquefort, the town St Antonin Val Noble where Chocolat, Charlotte Grey and The Hundred-Foot journey were filmed. The world heritage site of Conques, the cave houses of Cirq Lapopie, the medieval village of Najac....... and so it goes on.
The Aveyron...the well guarded secret that even the French are surprised at it's richness in history.
Within 10 minutes drive from the gite in the next valley there is Mirabel, a village used by the French resistance in the 2nd world war. The village of Belcastel with it's chateau and gourmet restaurant Le Vieux Pont or if you prefer DIY you can take a picnic down to the Aveyron river flowing through the medieval village of Previnquières.
All within 10 mins drive from the gite!
The village of Rignac is a 7 min drive and holds a small weekly market and has a well stocked local shop, an excellent butcher, a pharmacy, 2 mouth watering boulangeries a post office and a haberdashery and something that defines every French village...4 hairdressers!!!!
There is also a park with a lake, tennis courts and an open air swimming pool.
La Fage could not be better situated.
The gite has parking and a car is a must. If you like to cycle there is a barn in which you can leave your bikes.
