The cabin location is great. Definitely quiet & remote; however, the cabin itself needs some serious maintenance, updating & a lot of TLC. Please carry EVERYTHING you think you may need. Only salt & pepper for seasoning. There are no bowls to store things in the fridge; only 1 frying pan; I dirty pot holder; the coffee pot took about 40 minutes to brew the morning coffee. I would wash the dishes before you use them. Several pieces weren’t cleaned when i went to the use them. The outlets in the kitchen stopped working on the morning of checkout. The shower is VERY small, old & stained. I notified the agency managing the rental & suggested lots of maintenance before the next guest stays. We love Lake Murray but won’t stay at this particular cabin again.

Sweet little cabin. Beautiful relaxing lake. Plenty of nature. We saw bunnies, turtles, deer and lots of spiders. Speaking of spiders, the upside attic/loft with an extra bed (good perk) very dusty, we sneezed a lot. Also the banister railing up there had alot of spider webs and spiders hanging out on the low ceiling that was only inches from you. I have a toddler that’s obsessed with spiders so for him it was fun and he cleaned some of the webs. I don’t think a lot of guests sleep up there so it’s not often dusted. I’m not sure why they continuously say you will be contacted for early check in or check out if it’s available. We got there hours early as with a small kid I give myself a lot of time if I have a long drive. I was told early check in wasn’t available when no one was on the property. We waited by the lake until 4pm to check in when it was available all along. Which is fine but just don’t offer it if you don’t truly offer it. We had a good time all in all.

Strong central AC, and a window AC unit as a backup….In truth it took it took us two days to realize the old control box on the wall operated a central AC unit because we were distracted by the window unit. It’s an older cabin in a remote location; but that was clear upfront. It’s almost a camper in terms of space, but lake is wonderful and location is very quiet and secluded. Bathroom and shower are very small, so anyone over 6 feet would be squeezing into the shower. Shower showing it’s age, so it appears dirty. That said, this place was a great value. 20-25 minutes into Lexington, but if you just want to paddle or boat the lake this is place is great. Water around end of the dock is about 4 feet — and WiFi worked great the 9 days we stayed.
