Wonderful beachfront property that can accommodate many guests! Close to restaurants too!

The location was great! We could literally hop over a pony wall and be in the beach. We were there with our 3 grown daughters and there was enough space for everyone to be comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find several restaurants and breweries within walking distance. Easy enough to drive to other areas in Coronado, San Diego and more. We were able to get uber to get to Petco Park for a concert but it took a little extra time for arrival. The little area around the house is just a nice, clean beach town and didn’t have any issues walking around.

Lovely home in a beautiful location right on the beach. Plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The house hosts are warm, friendly, and helpful!

What can we say, but DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!! There are so many reasons to avoid this place at Imperial Beach and only two reasons to stay. Let's start with the positives. 1. It's right on the beach and this was a great beach. Watching the surfers and the sun set were highlights of the trip. 2. There are 4 bedroom with 5 beds and 4 full bathrooms. Now to the negatives. 1. This place has a ton of deferred maintenance. The paint is peeling, fixtures are rusty and broken, weeds and dead plants are on the perimeter,. 2. The view out the windows would be great if you could see out them. They are covered in grime and bird poop. 4. There's no air conditioning which wouldn't be a problem normally. There's a nice breeze from the ocean. However, the screen door off the master bedroom is broken as well as the screen door of the front entryway. When asked about the MB screen, we were told that the last tenants broke it. No surprise as the one screen door that is still intact is hard to open and will most likely be broken soon. The owner offered up some strange screen contraption, but it wouldn't fit in the doors. The next solution was to provide us with large noisy fans. 5. There is tile in most of the house which makes sense - being a beach house. There is carpet in the bedrooms but don't walk on it. It is an ugly brown shag that is so old and matted and dirty. None of use would walk barefoot on it for fear of what we might catch. 6. The master bathroom has a large shower, jetted tub, and double sinks. When we went to use the tub, we found that it was dirty with previous tenants hair and who knows what else. The jets were dirty and we didn't even try using them. The shower had mold growing in it and again, we were scared to use it with bare feet. Another bathroom note - full bars of soap were provided. However, they were used! Again, hairs from previous guests were stuck to the soap. 7. The kitchen could have been a gourmet kitchen. Unfortunately, one of the first things you see is a microwave with the words "Do Not Use" written on masking tape across. There was another microwave to use, but it too was dirty and made strange sounds when you tried to use it. There were TONS of plates and tea cups - especially with Christmas themes. But for a place that says it can sleep 16, the utensil situation didn't show it. There were also tons of pots but no lids. The one baking pan that was stored in the oven was so old and dirty there was no way we were baking anything on it. 8. There were ants in the kitchen and the bathrooms. This was also mentioned to the owners and she had her maintenance guy spray outside around the kitchen. The whole place needs to be fumigated. 9. Several of the outlets don't work. We never could figure out why certain ones didn't to see if it was a circuit that had tripped. It was just random. 10. The mattress in the master bedroom was just a thin mattress that was very uncomfortable. What made it worse was that the sheets for the bed were made for a normal size mattress. So the sheets were too big and every morning we woke up in a tangle of loose fitted sheet. 11. There wasn't even enough hot water for one person to shower. Again for a place that claims to be able to sleep 16, there should be a large water heater. But no - it takes forever for the water to heat up and then you have a minute or two before it goes cold. 11. When we checked in the property manager told me the check out time but I couldn't remember. He did tell me that the cleaners could work around us if we needed more time. On the night before our check out, we looked through the information book that was left for us and couldn't find anything on checking out. So we planned on being out by 11:00 am. That morning at 9:15 I received a text reminding me that check out was at 10:00 - in 45 minutes. We happened to be attending church at that time and asked for an extra hour. Fortunately that was granted. While maybe I should have listened better and maybe should have reached out, I feel information like that should be included in the information booklet or maybe a reminder text could be sent more than 45 minutes before check out time. One thing to note that isn't the owners fault. This is right on the beach and beachgoers aren't always respectful of people living/staying on the beach. Loud music, loud conversations, crowds are just part of the package. (It could have been made better if we could have closed windows and turned on the a/c.) In summary, if you are comfortable living in a frat house, this is the place for you. But if you are a family looking for a nice place on the beach and splurged (to the tune of $800/night), steer clear of this rental.

Our whole family enjoyed this home. It was well equipped with everything we needed. Great location with beach access. The rooftop has amazing views. Lots of room. Host and property manager was very accessible. Definitely recommend and our whole family agreed, we would come back.
