This unit is as described on the inside fairly clean, secure and private But the outside activity is whole different story the host acts like he is unaware but his welcoming instructions speak of gang activity in the area and to not hesitate to call the police. Every night about 20+ homeless people congregate outside the front of the building playing loud music, yelling/cursing and dogs fighting/barking. Around 3am the street cleaners come out yelling for the homeless to leave so they can clean and bring the police with sirens/loud speaker that you can hear right through the bedroom window. Whether you sleep during the day/night always some disturbance right outside the window and you hear it all. If some is smoking weed or cigarettes you smell it coming through the bedroom window. Drug activity in this area is bad, never have I ever walked up to my building and found a homeless person smoking a pipe but you will here. I recommend googling what happens in Tenderloin SF before booking

Loved the place&stay! Ahmad was always responsive. Though the location wasn’t 10/10. There were many homeless people gathering everyday.

I stayed at Ahmad's place for a year during my studies. The flat is great: kitchen is fully furnished if you like to cook, fast wifi, storage... Literally situated above a bakery and 2 min away from the BART station. The area is known to be a bit creepy, but I've never had any issues, there is always people on the plaza to check on you. The other tenants are really nice too, often meeting on the rooftop for drink or two.
