Wow! I’m so glad we found this place! This is so much more than just an Airbnb! It’s a totally unique experience! Christian is the most accommodating host we have ever had. His house is located in a rural area with lots to do. It was such a great break from the city life we had in the lead up. Can’t recommend this place enough! You will love it! My family of 4 certainly did. It was one of the highlights of our Japan holiday!

Christian’s place, Bishamon House, offers a stay like no other. He is super quick to respond, helps with transportation, and takes super great care of guests. I did the pottery and soba making classes that Christian helped to arrange - and they made my trip to Kameoka extra, extra special. He also prepares breakfast each morning! This is a great place to escape Kyoto’s crowds, and it’s an easy base to Kyoto and Arashiyama. Highly recommend!

We got lucky with the timing of our visit. Our original intent was really just to get away from the busy city travel and to see some countryside. We got that and more! The cherry blossoms are at full bloom and the cherry park was a 10/10. Christian picked us up from the airport, made dinner reservations for us based on what we wanted to eat and try, and spent time talking with us. He even cooked us breakfast in the morning. He’s been one of the best hosts we’ve had across a few countries. Would love to come back here to relax when in Japan again. Thank you Christian!

Christian was very helpful, beyond what we expected. Picking us up from train station, taking us to restaurants and even helping us after we checked out. Loads of local knowledge and advice!

I would give it a 7-star rating: 5 stars for the excellent house and an additional two stars for the excellent hospitality services and helpful attitude of the host, Christian. Out of my 30 Airbnb experiences, Christian is the host who has spent the highest number of hours providing the highest quality of hospitality services to guests. He took us to and from the house to the train station. His response to our questions is extremely fast and appropriate. This is important for guests like us who are not familiar with the Japanese way of doing things. Furthermore, his focus is on the guests, and I would like to give an example to illustrate his client-focused attitude. He proactively introduced us to the cherry park and a Kaiseki restaurant when we canceled our Kyoto trip for one day.
