A heavenly retreat on top of the hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean beyond Praia Grande. Exquisitely appointed and tastefully decorated, we couldn’t have wished for a better place than Casa do Moinho Alto to celebrate our mother’s 80th birthday with our combined families of two couples with 3 adolescent children each. Away from the hustle and bustle it offered us exactly the refuge we needed after a busy day. Communication with the owner was excellent and reactive all the way from preparation throughout the period of our stay. And the comprehensive guidebook that came along with our reservation helped us design an à la carte program that catered to the culinary and leisure desires of our whole party. What a great place, we hope to be back one day!

We had an excellent stay in Casa do Moinho Alto. Miguel was very forthcoming, easy to text with and prepared to help us with anything we needed. We can very much recommend both the house and the hosts.

The hosts have put great effort into this house. It is gorgeous, and thoughtfully designed. The kitchen works great, the dining area, the outdoor spaces (umbrella and sofa were so perfect on the terrace), and the living room with the view to the valley was incredible. Parking is easy. We fit comfortably. And the hosts were wonderful from start to end. The location is unreal. In the middle of hiking and biking, close to Sintra (but not crowded like Sintra), and close to amazing beaches. Thank you!

Impeccably designed house with beautiful views. Pictures can’t capture how lovely this property is! This house was perfect for our large group with large outdoor space, a play room with lots of toys for our children and a well stocked Kitchen. Location was close to restaurants, grocery stores, and the beach. Hosts were very communicative. We used Jaima per the hosts guide book to cook for us several times and she was fantastic. Highly recommend booking her her.
