Romaldkirk is such a haven of peace and tranquility and Lea Cottage helped make it such. Beautifully furnished, with the comfort of a home-from-home feel, and good quality bedding, linen and towels, Claire couldn't have made us more welcome. Communication was swift and helpful. The beautiful Rose and Crown Hotel is next door, with tasty food and a cheerful welcome. The Kirk pub also a few steps away, if a pint with a somewhat quirky, but very friendly landlord is preferred. Weather was mixed, but we managed walks every day of our 12 day stay and these long days were rewarded by deep, cosy sleeps in very comfortable beds, drifting off to the gentle hourly chime of the church clock. Not a sound; perhaps the clip-clop of a passing horse in the morning, or our cheeky pooch barking at it! Can't wait to return. Thank you Claire.

We had a wonderful stay at Lea Cottage. The cottage is thoughtfully decorated and furnished. It felt homely and welcoming with a fantastic fireplace we spent our evenings huddled around. Claire was always quick to respond to any queries and provided clear instructions. Great place to stay in if you’re visiting the area.

Lovely location, great communication from Claire, plenty of outdoor space for the dog to run around, a couple of pubs in the village, overall a pleasant and comfortable stay.

A lovely cottage in the heart of a truly beautiful village. Two local pubs, we went to the Rose & Crown twice and loved it. Great food and service. Plenty of walks from your door so lovely for a car free day with the dogs. We hope to come back.

Lea Cottage is a wonderful place. It has been modernised to a really high standard – not long ago by the look of things - but the character of the place has been left intact. The kitchen is super and the bathroom huge! Claire has put a great deal of thought into this place’s decoration. The ornaments and things on the walls are really tasteful and in keeping with the cottage and its history. The central heating is excellent. The village of Romaldkirk is very “chocolate box”, with lots of green space and the pub just around the corner (The Rose and Crown) has a menu that is simply out of this world for quality and the value is great too! The people are very welcoming and dogs are welcome in the bar – which is really an extension of the restaurant. There’s no through traffic, which makes this a lovely quiet place to stay. Claire is an exceptional host. She communicates really well, provides excellent instructions and guidance but she leave you alone to enjoy the cottage.
