SORRY NO PETS: Set in the heart of the Haute-Vienne countryside the gite is 20 minutes from Le lac de Vassivière or the town of Treignac, both favourite days out for families with beaches, swimming, sailing, walking and cycling (plus all facilities). Three minutes walk from the gite is la rivière Vienne for riverside picnicking and bathing - but cycling and walking starts from the gite's front door. N.B. Sorry folks but the Gite is STRICTLY NON-SMOKING throughout the property, even outside as smokers' clothes and hair carry the stale lingering cigarette smell onto furnishings and bedding. Also sorry NO PETS. NEW!!- for 2023/4-we now have air conditioning/heating installed for the two double bedrooms and the lounge. Le Fournet is a spacious detached, two storey, former traditional stone farmhouse converted as a "bunk" or family house. It comprises a fully equipped modern kitchen which we can set up either as a family kitchen room or as a canteen style room for group bookings. There is a large "bunk room"/dormitory on the first floor with three single beds, a bunkbed, a double bed and a new (2022) shower room with WC and wash basin. There is also a separate double room on the first floor with an adjacent shower room with two showers, washbasin and toilet. On the second floor there is a double bedroom with a small ensuite shower room, wash basin and WC. The spacious downstairs lounge has a wood burning stove, television and computer desk with wi-fi. There is ample off-road private parking for guest's cars as well as a secure garage for bicycles accessed from the kitchen. The are two completely private furnished terraces for outdoor eating, with a plunge pool and plenty of space for a BBQ with direct access straight from the kitchen back door.
