These include walking, golf, sea and freshwater fishing, pony trekking, water sports and cycling. Several beautiful gardens are recommended for a visit including Logan Botanical Gardens, which benefit from the mild climate of the Gulf Stream. The quaint harbour village of Portpatrick is nearby with restaurants, shops and a golf course, whilst the town of Stranraer is approximately 8 miles with a further range of shops, restaurants and pubs. There are many coastal villages to explore in the area. Day trips to Ireland can be taken from Cairnryan. Beach 2 miles. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 5½ miles.
