Fabulous place to go with a group of people - unique in all respects - but need to drive everywhere and thus a non-drinker was required/volunteered for all dinners out - but the restaurants around were amazing in spite of being remote

A unique property in a unique part of the world… what an experience.

This property was exceptional - one of those life experiences you are glad you've had. It is surrounded by rainforest and an architectural masterpiece. We were also surprised by the number of activities to do in Cape Tribulation - suitable for little kids too. The property managers provide you with a booklet and over 8 nights we still didn't get through it all. The area itself is incredibly beautiful. As an Australian who travels a lot abroad, we sometimes under-appreciate our own backyard and I was really grateful to experience the beauty of Cape Tribulation. Some tips: - Baby Monitors: If you are traveling with small children who still have a tendency to wake in the night and call for you - bring baby monitors. The rooms are very far away from each other which is great for adults/teenagers but not for little children. You will not hear them. - Mosquito sprays: Don't need them. We were surprised by the lack of mosquitoes (we were there in dry season) and wasted valuable baggage space bringing mosquito repellents and room mists. - Earplugs: You are surrounded by rainforest and it is alive at night. If you are not used to sounds of nature in the night - like birds or gekko's or maybe it was wild pigs - then bring earplugs. It took me 3 nights to get used to it. On the other hand, my husband slept with the windows and doors open because he loved it - so each to their own. The one negative I experienced was I found the pillows a bit uncomfortable. They were a bit hard and high - some softer, thinner pillows would be much appreciated for those of us who sleep on our stomachs. Overall this was a very memorable experience and Australia at its best.
