The images were very dated from what we had when we arrived. It was not maintained, the air vents had lint and because he had to use the heat, we had issues with allergies. the home is very private and also there are not any street lights, when we arrived, we found a note on the refrigerator about bugs on the building and we were not to leave lights on outside. this was an issue for us, as we had our dogs with us and taking them out in the dark was a concern. The 3rd floor bathrooms had sections of the drywall peeling off and you could see areas of leaks as well. The doors to the laundry room were not installed properly, so it would continue to open and block the hall. The outside of the home needed to be cleaned up, we would not allow the children to play outside around the side or the back, as there was wood with nails around as well. The home has wonderful potential, but it is in need of some TLC and care. The location is fantastic and the beach was wonderful.

Seaside Vacations was an unprofessional property “manager”. They charged a “late” check out fee ($75) unless we were checking out at 9am. Two days before check in, we were told we couldn’t stay there if we weren’t a “family” stay. This was not written anywhere on the listing, but hidden in the lengthy lease signed AFTER our booking. Ironically, this home was NOT suitable for children, due to the following issues in hygiene/safety: -downstairs bedroom door looked as though it was clawed open by an animal -rusted half foot nail sticking out of the wall in the bathroom -Wi-Fi did not work -not given enough pillow cases or sheets for all guests/beds -given just 2 rolls of half-ply toilet paper despite 4 bathrooms and housing 14 guests -no soap or any other cleaning essentials -none of the TVs had any cable or streaming services -floors were not mopped before arrival-floor was sticky, sandy & dirty -hot tub was not hot, we reached out and told technician would come but one never did

We stayed for a low key spring break with our two children (6mo and 4yo), and the house worked fine for our purposes and was a great price for ocean view. The location is a bit up a hill from the beach access path, which means you get lovely views particularly from the upper deck, and access to the beach is very easy. You can also walk to the little town of Duck (avoiding traffic and parking issues during busy season) along a very wide, safe pathway that's about a mile and a half. The boardwalk along the Sound side of the water is lovely! As noted in other reviews, the house is in a certain state of disrepair: there were chunks of plaster peeling and falling off bathroom walls, windows were cracked/very dirty obscuring the view, and nearly every screen (including the screen door to the deck) was broken and usable. Seaside was responsive to our request to fill the hot tub (not filled on arrival), but did nothing about the other repair issues (broken screens, etc).

Over all a good place in a great location. The house has seen some better days, and has some minor issues, but we had a great time none the less. I'd still book here again!

This place was perfect! There's a good amount of room and its right by the beach. This place is older but its not run down in any way. If your looking for a house with a lot of space that's right near the beach and don't intend on spending all your time inside this place is perfect!
