Staying at Fernando’s apartment was a breeze! The location can’t be beat - literally right above the bustling plaza de ponchos mercado. I enjoyed having the full kitchen to cook my own meals at night, and I would definitely book here again on my next visit to Otavalo!

This was my wife's and mine first time to travel to Ecuador. We did not know what to expect during our two-week travel throughout this beautiful country. The most notable was the friendliness and welcoming nature of the residents. Second, is that I rarely felt unsafe during our travels but then again, we did used common sense and maintained situational awareness. Third, plumbing and toilet paper don't mix in Ecuador as they apparently don't have the water pressure that Americans are used to, thus you dispose of your toilet paper in a trash can next to the toilet. This was a different experience. The view of the Otavalo Market was outstanding and I spent hours Saturday morning watching the vendors erect their stalls. The market on a Saturday is something worth experiencing as it not only encompasses the square but all the surrounding streets. You can purchase pretty much anything from clothing to textiles to fresh food. Note: if you want nice quality clothing visit the owner's store.

What a lovely apartment and lovely hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the very hard workers at the Plaza de Ponchos setting up early in the morning and taking it down in the evening. We loved the coffee shop downstairs: Rio Intag (not Cafe Cosecha). Yolanda is the wife of Fernando and we had several interactions with her. She was so very accommodating and always asking us if we were happy, which we were! Yolanda has retail shop on the floor right below the apartment with beautiful items for sale which is a must see, even if you don't stay at the apartment. We will certainly return next time we are in Otavalo.

Great place in a very good spot. Balcony looking out over the market square. Fernando (and family) were very helpful.

This is a beautiful apartment overlooking Plaza de Los Ponchos. There is no better location in Otavalo. The place is furnished nicely and very spacious. Fernando and family are the most gracious of hosts. I highly recommend a stay here.
