Here you’re in an excellent central location for exploring west Wales. An easy 30-minute drive will bring you to the wonderful beaches and coastline of Cardigan Bay with craggy cliffs interspersed with wide estuaries and the coastal path! Cardigan Bay enjoys a rich marine environment throughout the year with bottlenose dolphins, harbour porpoise, Atlantic grey seals and a variety of birdlife. You will not be disappointed with a visit to the pretty seaside town of New Quay where you can look out for dolphins, or take one of the regular boat trips which run most of the year, subject to sea conditions. It’s also a great place for rock pooling, surfing, sailing or just enjoying the relaxed seaside vibe of the town. Visit Ceredigion’s largest town, Aberystwyth, a lively university town and seaside resort; Cardigan, the former county town also boasts a castle, several arts venues and interesting independent shopping. Discover the picturesque Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron, the Teifi Valley or the towns of Newcastle Emlyn, Llandysul and Lampeter. Even in the smallest of rural hamlets, Ceredigion offers a warm welcome and a host of attractions and history. Venture south to Carmarthen and along Dylan Thomas country, or to Brechfa which is good for mountain biking. For the adventurous, try your hand at canoeing at Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Club. Pop in to the nearby National Wool Museum, The Museum of Childhood or the Museum of Power. Befitting of a county that dates back over 1600 years, every town has a tale to tell and each village a mystery to discover. When you return to The Milking Parlour at the end of a busy day exploring the area, it will be time to unwind and enjoy the peaceful rural setting. Hampshire Down sheep are grazing in the owner’s field from spring to autumn, red kites and buzzards often soar overhead, and in the summer, swallows return to breed. Stroll around the couple of acres of woodland and ponds or why not pour a glass of wine, sit on the patio and enjoy star gazing? Light pollution is at a minimum here and the clear night skies are amazing with a chance to see the Milky Way. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile. Free WiFi Can comfortably fit up to 5 people
We had a really lovely weekend, couldn't have asked for nicer hosts. The children loved the woods to play in and feeding the donkeys and Mick made the trip extra special for the children. It was a very peaceful location but still accessible to other areas to visit. Would love to go back for another visit.
To say we found a hidden gem is an understatement. The Milking Parlour was everything we wanted and more. It was perfectly placed for all of our Welsh adventures. It was warm and cozy not to mention how amazing Kay and Mick were. We’ll definitely be back for a second visit ASAP.
We loved our stay at the Milking parlour. Mick and Kay were great hosts, very helpful and highlight of our stay in the area was Mick introducing us to the Donkeys and boys going on the Tractor. Our boys (5 and 2) loved the cottage, plenty of room and comfortable bedrooms. The cottage has everything you need and the bread milk and welsh cakes on arrival really nice addition thankyou. Lots to do within 30/40mins of the place, Folly Farm and Cardigan Island Farm were great for the kids and adults. and the beaches in the area are beautiful. If looking for food, the Ferry in near Poppit sands beach were really helpful and very good food on Easter Sunday. We hope to be back for another visit soon. Thanks
Fantastic hosts, Kay and Mick, who have the most beautiful property in a lovely location. This property has everything you need and more, and it’s so thoughtfully designed and extremely well styled and comfortable. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome
