lovely and peaceful, the area is fantastic the cottage was jus perfect for a little break from the bussy London. The only thing we miss it was the Internet

Wonderful cottage in lovely grounds. Great facilities including a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed our stay here and found it an easy driving distance to visit the lakes.

I arrived at this beautiful cottage, check in with a keybox. I opened the front door to a dirty carpet, and pile of damp washing. I ventured further, nothing was cleaned, there was no clean bed linen or towels. It was obvious that no cleaning had taken place following the previous occupants. I contacted Cottages Com, and received countless emails re how to check in, and FAQs. I rang their contact number, to be told the office had closed. They were hopeless Finally l tried the owner, a very thoughtful gentleman, who offered to drive from his home 2 hours away to help! With his lovely wife’s help we located towels and bed linens. The following morning a cleaner arrived, and explained that the cottage was not on the Friday rota for cleaning. The cleaner then whizzed around, cleaned the bathrooms and lounge, and made the bed. I enjoyed the rest of my stay, the cottage is so very peaceful, and the small area outside the bedroom is a sun trap, perfect for lazy days

The property , area and villagers were all excellent. Cumbria cottages spoilt the holiday as there was no response on the emergency number . In the end we had to call the owners to resolve the problem of having no hot water for 4 days. The owners went out of their way to help us and sort the boiler out. This should have been sorted by Cumbria Cottages to save the owners having to travel back and forth from Manchester over 2 days to sort the problem .
