Sophie was a great host. She even did a tour of the chateau for us. The chateau is located in a very serene quaint village. Chateau has a ton of character and sits on a 50 hectare lot, next to the Thouet river. We didn’t get to stay at the chateau as it’s off season and the rooms are undergoing some renovations. However, our room in the Keep (Donjon) was just as good an experience. Our room was large and the bathroom was enormous! It has a great view of the grounds. Sophie even cleans the room each day of our stay - something that we didn’t expect but we appreciated. There is a very good restaurant nearby. Sophie even offers breakfast and has been very flexible with our breakfast timing. Overall, a solid option for those who would like to experience staying in a quiet French village chateau.

The castle is very beautiful. Sophie was very kind to show us around and how she has been renovating the place. We would love to come back in the summer when it would be surrounded by greenery.

Un lieu hors du commun où notre histoire est entretenue par des passionnés. Vous rêvez de passer une nuit (ou plusieurs) dans un cadre chargé d'histoire ? Vous êtes au bon endroit, vos hôtes , intarissables d'anecdotes, sauront vous embarquer dans l'histoire des lieux à travers les siècles. Expérience unique qui vaut le détour.

Sophie and her husband were gracious hosts. It is plainly obvious how much they care for this property and the amazing restorations they've done over the course of more than 30 years. It is a true gift to their comminity. Our room was in the medieval section (circa XIIth century) with its thick walls, spiral staircase and beautiful antiques in the guest rooms. The other section of the property...the 1600s chateau...is equally impressive. You are literally taken back in time. Sophie gave us a private tour upon arrival, and her husband was happy to point out the various fruits grown in their expansive gardens. He gave my husband a delicious kumquat, which is a fruit my husband had never tried. The breakfast is delicious -- yogurts, croissants, French baguette, jams, granola, fresh fruits and more. The quaint town includes a couple of restaurants. We tried the laid back and delicious pizzeria. This is an incredible and unique experience not to miss. I highly recommend it.
