Whether you want to explore the Kalahari, see the workings of a Namibian farm or relax, this is the perfect place to stay. Wynand and his lovely family were the perfect hosts.
Our stay at Wynand’s was very special and served as a pleasant contrast to a Namibian lodge stay. It gave us a chance to experience the daily life on a Namibian farm in the heart of the Kalahari desert. Wynand and his lovely family were incredibly kind and giving. We especially enjoyed a brai night with the host - matched with a short, insightful tour around the farmland. The location is peaceful, remote, and seeing the stars shine each night is a highlight. You’ll be surrounded by all sorts of animals, a few cats, dogs, chickens, goats, and beautiful horses. Staying on the farm is an experience in itself and worth the drive out there. While you are in a remote location, you’ll be able to stay connected (if desired) as the host recently installed Starlink. We look forward very much to our return in the near future :)
Die Begrüßung durch den Gastgeber Wynand war äußerst herzlich. Wir haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Wynand hat uns während unseres Aufenthaltes mit mit auf seine Farm genommen und alles gezeigt… Abends Filets zum Grillen bekommen. Auch selbstgebackenes Brot und Obst liebevoll präsentiert. Vier unglaublich reizende Kinder sind vor Ort. Es war uns eine Freude diese Familie kennenzulernen. Unterkunft sauber, alles da was man benötigt. Klimaanlage incl., diese war auch nötig. 39 Grad erlaubten wenig Aktivität. Wir kommen wieder!
Wynand and his family are absolutely wonderful we felt at home and got much more than we could have expected.I recommend buying meat at the farm, the place for grilling is perfect, I will definitely come back. Thanks Wynand

Hi I’m Wynand Husband to Ilana and we have four beautiful children. We recently moved to my wife’s family farm in Aranos and took over the guesthouse form Ilse. I’m a farmer, carpenter and artist that loves the Kalahari. We also homeschool the children and make them part of the daily farm-life. When visiting us, you are welcome to join in or just observing our daily farming activities.
