Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in der Ecolodge. Alle Personen waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben eine Tour durch den Permakulturgarten bekommen, und super leckeres Frühstück und Abendessen. Die Nahrungsmittel, die dort in der Restaurantküche verarbeitet werden, werden in Bio-Qualität im Garten angebaut, oder aus der Umgebung bezogen. Das "Greening the Desert Project" ist wirklich ein einzigartiges Projekt und jede*r die/der auf Nachhaltigkeit wertlegt, sollte dort übernachten. Wir empfehlen es zu 100%

Malheureusement, notre nuit prévue chez Nadia ne s’est pas révélée conforme à la promesse. Si le cadre est très agréable, nous n’étions pas attendues alors que notre réservation était confirmée et malgré les messages et appel téléphonique que nous avions envoyés. Un couac peut toujours arriver bien entendu et n’est pas grave en soi, mais une fois sur place, il a fallu attendre 1h30 et plusieurs relances de notre part avant de pouvoir trouver une solution. L’annonce en outre ne correspond pas à la réalité (pas de wifi, pas d’eau chaude). Le lieu n’est visiblement pas prévu pour accueillir des backpackers mais plutôt pour des séjours au long cours. Un toilette pour 6 chambres avec un unique lavabo pour se laver les dents, un dîner de qualité mais trop cher (en plus de la note) et pas de petit déjeuner (du moins pendant le ramadan…). Ceci étant dit, pour un séjour au long cours et bien préparé en amont, l’endroit est probablement paisible…

Amazing piece of green in the beige landscape. So cool to see the permaculture principles work so well. We where especially amazed by the women who work here, they have powerful stories and they show how being in harmony with nature really makes a difference in the community. They are, like the greening the desert project, a true inspiration.

Un sitio magico. Cerca del mar muerto. Si añades la cena tu estancia sera perfecta. Repetiriamos seguro. A magical place!!! Near from dead sea. If you have diner too, your stay will be perfect!! We will repet sure!!

Verdoe je tijd hier alstublieft niet aan. Het is zijn geld echt niet waard. Wij gingen hiernaartoe om het green the desert project te ontdekken en voor de vriendelijkheid van de mensen. Dit viel 100% tegen. Er was niemand om ons welkom te heten. We hebben een half uur rond het domein liggen dolen omdat niemand ons de toegang wees. Het was echt verschrikkelijk.

I'm Nadia On behalf of the GTD Project, I love to show people how to live sustainably, and how we can restore this planet. We hope that our new ecolodge accommodation at the greening the desert site will inspire you whilst giving you an unforgettable experience of Jordanian hospitality and traditional food and culture.  I believe we need to focus on the solutions that are readily available to us all whilst designing for abundance. Then we can achieve miracles even in the harshest conditions like in the desert of the dead sea valley in Jordan where I was born. I learned traditional ways of land use from my father, an expert farmer and herbal healer of Palestinian, Bedouin descent. I completed my PDC in the Dead Sea Valley in 1999 then proceeded to work on the "Green the Desert" project and establish permaculture women's groups and school projects with this work as reference I went on to complete my permaculture diploma in design, education and site development and registered as a permaculture teacher in English and Arabic with the Bill and Lisa Mollison's permaculture Institute of Australia. I now live in The Channon in Northern New South Wales, Australia at Zaytuna Farm the home of the Australian Permaculture Research Institute. Since 2003 I have been working with PRI as and international permaculture teacher, consultant and aid worker. I feel privileged to have been born in a third world country with so much practical skills I have inherited to share and to live and work in many first world countries with so much appropriate technology I have learnt to understand. My passion is to give people hope that there is a better way we can all live and share all our skills and advantages with permaculture design.
