We chose this unit during COVID as a last minute booking through Airbnb. We were looking for something very clean, with good access to a private/semi private beach, and with a pool. The location was excellent. The property mgmt company was responsive and was taking extra precautions for sanitizing during COVID. The walk to the beach was longer than expected, but the boardwalk through wetlands and over dunes was very pleasant, and as long as you had a wagon to pull your gear, it was an enjoyable hike. The beach is on state park lands so it is not crowded at all and the sand is scenic with dunes and very powdery white sand. The only issue we had was with lack of connect between the property management group and Airbnb which made us a little nervous we had been scammed—The property mgmt company called us the day of check in to tell us we needed to pay our balance before check in (it was already paid in full through Airbnb). The instructions we were sent gave an earlier check in time than what they actually were (to allow for extra cleaning precautions), and they sent us a gate and pool code that did not work. Social distancing and cleanliness were our top concerns during Covid and although the accommodations made us feel as protected as we could ask for, I would say that I was NOT impressed by the local shops/restaurants/gas stations on their efforts to use PPE and cleanliness. We only ate at one restaurant on the patio and while they were nice and the food was good nobody was wearing masks, sanitizing tables/menus, or enforcing social distancing. Also, we bought groceries at the Publix and I am not sure if it was because of the tourist location or what, but groceries were at least double what you would pay at a Kroger or similar. The house had adequate dishes and pots and pans but they do NOT supply so much has even salt or pepper so bring your own spices, oil, trash bags, dish washer detergent, TP, and laundry soap. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for clean and private COVID quarters.
