I would like to start with the positives here: 1. Great communication from the host! 2. Super easy check-in and check-out. 3. Amazingly dog friendly (fenced in yard but also located right next to a park where we walked our dogs every day) 4. Awkward layout but pretty spacious 5. We did not have to unpack any kitchen necessities which was very nice 6. Friendly neighbors 7. In building coin operated washing machine and dryer 8. Great location, you can walk to restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores! Things that we did not appreciate as much: 1. When we checked in, the apartment was ant infested. They sent someone within 3 days though. You should still have a water + vinegar spray to manage the few lingering ants. 2. Once or twice a week someone who works on the house brings their dog and leaves them outside unattended. This can get tough when you are presenting to clients as they bark non stop. Cute dog! 3. The dishwasher is loose when you open it there is a chance you may get a tiny cut on your fingers. It happened twice to me and I have provided second feedback to get it fixed before their next guests. I hope they do fix it as it can raise many other major safety concerns, like falling on a child. 4. The apartment was very dirty. We immediately bought cleaning supplies (none of this is provided, you should also bring hand soap as what was there only lasted 2 days) and spent a day cleaning. The host did offer to have someone else clean it but we had just made a cross county move and wanted to get it done faster without waiting for someone. They did refund our cleaning fee so they are fair and reasonable.

We stayed at the apartment for six weeks. It was a great home base for us. Pros: - Location! Next door to Buena Vista park, right in the Haight, walk to everything you need, 30 min bus ride to downtown, easy access to GG park as well - the light in the main room is great - lots of space for the money (two bedrooms, a large kitchen, mudroom, and a nice living room area) - Cons: - some of the appliances were a bit janky - the dishwasher wasn't really installed right, the microwave would sometimes just cut out randomly - the thermostat never worked right. Jan came over to fix it once but it just crapped out again. We just managed temperature by covering the vents - We didn't have a mail key so we were unable to get mail there - There were ants in the apartment. This is pretty common in old SF apartments, especially during the rainy season. We managed this by just being careful to not leave anything out that they liked, and that worked well enough. But there were usually stray ants here and there, patrolling around the place - The shower is kind of weird - it was hard to turn it off without scalding or freezing myself, and also it was kind of short. Anyways, overall I'd definitely recommend the place, although it has a few quirks, like you'd expect from a short-term rental/old SF apartment. But honestly getting any 2 BR in this location is awesome. I hope we come back!

The apartment is overall pretty good, but had a lot of small problems: - We were only given one key on check in - The dishwasher wasn't secured in the counter - The shower door leaks a lot of water onto the floor - The upstairs neighbor lets their dogs into the backyard and rarely cleans up after them - The TV didn't have any streaming device, just a directv box without service Jan was very responsive and helpful getting small issues fixed for us throughout the month

Great place to stay for a month after landing in SF while looking for a permanent place to stay! Awesome backyard for our doggy, sweet/kind neighbors in the building, kitchen with full amenities, comfy furniture, nice TV, great light! Loved the location! Thanks so much for having us, will miss the neighbors and neighborhood!
