Le Manoir de Canet d'Aude is a fully recently renovated and imposing Belle Epoque Chateau / Maison de Maitre - 'Master's House of the Beautiful Era' It was originally built in the 1830's, as a show of influence by one of the wealthiest farmers, landowners and Wine and Brandy producers - For many years later in its life it was home to the family of the Mayor of Narbonne. The Main Hub of the Manor is the Renovated 200 year old Dining Room and its well equipped French Period Country Style Kitchen below - Then through the two double height French Doors you can access the outside again. From the front balcony you have views over the New Pool, Sun Terrace, Park Garden with no its Shallow Brook and numerous Mature Shady Fruit Trees. On the First Floor there are Four Well Proportioned Luxury Bedroom Suites, all with Double Beds, that can be easily be split into Two Single's - Each room has a En Suite with Hans Grohe Power Rain Shower and Double Sinks space permitting. There are also CT Two Daybeds, that can be popped up and placed within the largest room suites for younger children + There are 4 Portable Cots and 4 High Chairs for Babies. Well selected Farrow and Ball Paints and Osborne & Little Wall Papers have been used throughout to complete the French Contemporary Classic feel. On the Third Top Floor there are Two Further Bedrooms and a large shared Family size WC, Shower Room with Double Sinks - One of the Bedrooms is arranged as a Non Splittable Double, the next a Splittable Double or as a Two / Three Bed Dormitory. On the raised ground floor is bedroom 7 with an ensuite WC and handbasin. This easier access room is served by the ground floor bath/ shower room nearby. On the Lower Ground Floor we have a recently refitted Contemporary Classic French Kitchen with TV and access to the outside front courtyard, next door is the Well Stocked 'Honesty Wine Cellar' / Utility Room with Washing Machine. Next door to the Kitchen is 'The Games Room' - With a Full Size Quality Pool Table, Bar Style Table Foot Ball and Full Size Ping Pong Table - Yippie ! This leads into the newly opened Dedicated’TV Cinema Room’ with comfortable sofas and a drinks making area. Perfect for Netflix and sporting events. On the property we also have the ‘Champagne Bar & Wine Makers Barn’. A further fun Courtyard Space with a Webber BBQ. Essentially a weather proof Exterior Covered Entertaining Space. Trendy Chandelier, Tables & Chairs for relaxing or eating Dinner Al Fresco.

Wir waren zum zehnten Mal mit einer Gruppe in Frankreich unterwegs. Betten und Badezimmer waren wirklich toll, Küche ist super ausgestattet. Der Poolbereich war auch sehr schön. Auch die Kommunikation mit Melanie war jederzeit unproblematisch. Allerdings: Haus liegt direkt an einer Durchgangsstraße, Bouleplatz gegenüber wird auch bis nach Mitternacht frequentiert. Küche und Spielzimmer sind im Keller und weisen eine sehr geringe Deckenhöhe auf. Ab einer Körpergröße von 1,8 Meter muss man gebückt durch die Räume gehen. Zwei von unserer Gruppe haben sich mächtig die Birne angestoßen. Der Aussenbereich zur Front des Hauses scheint nach Schwierigkeiten mit den Nachbarn eher eine "restricted area" zu sein. Keine Tische und Stühle vor dem Haus, die Türen des Salons waren abgeschlossen. Alternativ kann man in der halb geöffneten Scheune sitzen. (imposantes Holzfass hinter den bereit gestellten Sitzgelegenheiten).
Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour chez Mélanie. La communication et la disponibilité de Mélanie avant et pendant le séjour a été très appréciée. Les chambres sont toutes très belles et bénéficient pour la majorité de leur propre salle de bain. Le plus apprécié par tous était la qualité des lits. Nous avons très bien dormis. L’espace de la maison est aussi un plus pour un grand groupe avec des enfants. On ne se marche pas dessus avec les différents espaces et étages de la maison. Les enfants avaient à leurs dispositions plusieurs espaces de jeux extérieurs et de nombreux jouets de la maison. Ils n’ont pas vu le temps passer. Encore merci Mélanie pour votre hospitalité !
We spent a fabulous week at Melanie's home as a group of 12 friends and 2 small children. It exceeded our expectations in many ways. The communication with Melanie was very good (especially in the lead up to our holiday when we booked the chef Melanie recommended for us) and she was there to welcome us and show us around the property and give us some tips on things to do in the area. The house itself was beautifully decorated and extremely stylish and there was plenty of space for the group so we weren't on top of each other. All the rooms were spotlessly clean and there were enough modern bathrooms for the group with great showers too. The property was equipped with everything we could ever need from toys for the children to a fully equipped kitchen so we could cook for ourselves when we didn't dine out. We enjoyed relaxing around the pool too which had enough sun loungers for the group. The location was fantastic for us. So much to do on the doorstep and further afield. We rented some great bikes nearby which was a lovely way to see the Canal du Midi and nearby vineyards. We also went to the beach in Gruissan which was just over 30 minutes away and Carcassonne and Narbonne were easily accessible. Even the small village had great amenities including a pizza place and a bakery, so we were able to have fresh croissants every morning. I'd especially recommend the nearby restaurant La Grillade Du Chateau, where we dined out twice. They serve a fabulous set menu that is great value for money given the huge portions! All in all we had an amazing holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Melanie's home if you are a large group who want to have a holiday where you can both sight-see and relax in style.

Le Manoir is positioned on the edge of a Thriving Village, while still being close to all essential services and the Cathedral City of Narbonne, with its choice of High Quality Sandy Beaches.
To the rear it has a Large Shady Garden and a Large New Pool (With child's security barrier) and Sun Terrace.
It was Completely Renovated in early 2013, and retains all its Original Character and Patina but functions perfectly as a modern and practical property should.
We have a large car park right opposite the house which is suitable for all your parking.
