From our arrival to our departure, we felt welcome. Paul was the perfect host, giving us a personal tour of our cottage and providing suggestions for eating out locally. The cottage had everything we needed, our hosts were clearly at the top of their game, they had thought of everything, the cottage was very well equipped with good quality appliances in the kitchen, all looked new. The 3 double bedrooms a were very comfortable, and the bathrooms well equipped. The cottage was very cosy, our party was never cold, our host Paul made a point of telling us to make use of the central heating thermostats to ensure were warm enough. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lavender cottage, and would stay there again.
Absolutely stunning home and location. The hosts were fantastic - really helpful with local walk and food suggestions. It's in a perfect spot for exploring, a 5 minute walk downhill into town, and so many local walks right on the doorstep. The place itself is beautiful. Exposed beams, quirky touches, and an ensuite to all 3 bedrooms. The hosts even provided extras like bread, baked goods, milk, washing up liquid, tea towels, tea, coffee, sugar, bath towels! It was so appreciated. The front gated garden was perfect for keeping our dog out of mischief, and the owners friendly dogs were lovely to wake up and say hello to. It's worth noting that the property isn't on the main road. I may have missed this in the description, but I didn't realise going by the photos and it was a fantasic surprise to be on a lovely quiet private road. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
The owners and on-site hosts were amazing. They provided a fabulous property, took time to welcome us initially via messages and then in person. The property is part of a wider improvement project, so be prepared for a skip to be present next door during summer 2023. This caused us no concern as we spent very little time at the property during working hours. Overall, I would recommend this cottage as a great place to springboard a stay in the Peak District
