I really appreciated how the owner, Rosemary, had fresh homemade scones and local treats ready for us on arrival. We were also grateful for the firewood. Peaceful surroundings in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Lovely village of Branscombe nearby. Endless stunning walks on our doorstep. The company who we hired through was uncommunicative and did not reply to my emails. However Rosemary, used her own initiative to contact me directly, and so potential problems were avoided.

Maple Tree Cottage is located at the end of a mile long track through beautiful woodland leading to a set of four cottages. It’s very quiet there and the cottage is surrounded by nature and has lovely views over a wooded valley. The cottage is spacious with good heating, a well equipped kitchen, comfy sofas, a large bed and a good shower. There’s a short walk nearby in the woods. There are lots of lovely villages nearby and wonderful walks (though they all require you to drive to them). The owner is friendly and helpful and had put out a nice welcome gift.

Secluded location surrounded by nature. Very peaceful with stunning views. Well worth the mile long drive to the very end, despite being bumpy in places! The host was warm & friendly and we arrived to hot scones which was a nice touch. A good base to stay for many coastal areas within 10/20 mins away.

beautiful location,15 minutes from the wonderful beach and cafe at branscombe which is great for fishing.cottage is very clean and comfortable. Track to property is a bit dodgy in a couple of places but drivable with care. Rosemary is a very friendly and helpful host,really enjoyed our stay.

Amazing location, very peaceful, beautiful views. Car essential if you need to get out & about. Very Happy with our stay.
