Was not expecting the Chalet to be part of a compound. However, it still was a beautiful space and spent time outdoors with a grill. Amazing hospitality as well

We stayed here for 2 weeks while touring Lebanon and visiting my Husbands family in the neighboring town Mejdal (5mins away). My husband knew of this place as "La Reserve" from previous visits to Mejdal. The Chalet was much better than expected I was nervous when I booked because there were no reviews yet but the experience here was great (locals know of this place and book through other avenues). There are a total of 8 apartments 1 floor each within the complex pictured- 1 belongs to the owner. The staff will allow you to look at all the apartments to chose the one you like best when you arrive- some have bedrooms with queen beds in bedroom some have 2 twin beds in bedroom 50/50. All the finishes are nice and new in the apartments- barely used, beds and pillows were comfortable- they have screens on windows which is wonderful and rare in Lebanon The bedroom in the lower back units are under ground and stay very cool these units also lookout over the trees and mountains truly beautiful still snow in mountains when we arrived. The mini-fridge is twice the size of a hotels and actually stays cold (keep a medium setting or it will freeze)! I made simple meals in the chalet using a hot plate and a pot and pan- they will lend you whatever you need from the kitchen. Staff are responsive and helpful I never felt bad asking for whatever we needed, we used the shared washer/dryer - no issues. Toufic- is a supervisor there and he speaks English- if you need. Travel tips- Get off the beaten path on the coast and stay here! You will need to rent a car or hire a guide if you plan to leave the chalets and explore-if terrified to drive in Beirut rent from Budget in Dbayeh (just outside Beirut) Realize that driving here is a bit lawless and anything goes- splitting lanes, honking and passing are commonplace. there is a fair amount of construction from Nahr Ibrahim road up to Chalets- a higher clearance vehicle would be nice but not necessary we didn't have one and we were fine but it was slower going. We ordered from the restaurant 1/2 kg of grilled meat and loved it! also the restaurant on the property has WIFI. There is a playground for kids, obstacle course, rock climbing wall and zip line you can arrange to use. down the road a few minutes towards Mejdal there is white tented Saj place that makes good Manouche- quick take out 6am-11pm this warm friendly lady works. Many dekanes dot the road- smaller convenience like stores they all have green and white signs. Drive times from Chalets- 5 mins to the beautiful picturesque town of Mejdal, 20 mins to Qartaba Francity is small grocery store we used, 20 mins to Laklouk, 45 mins to Halat, 1hr 15 mins to Jbeil (Byblos to tourists), 1.5 hrs to Baalbek. 1.5 hrs to Jeita Grotto if you take the other road down ( not nahr Ibrahim Antoine can tell you the name its the road that goes to Afqa waterfall), 2 hours through mountain roads to Cedars of God Arz, It is very scenic and WORTH the DRIVE you are not seeing Lebanon unless you get on these mountain roads. Its quiet and beautiful at the chalets no hectic buzz of the coast here and the air is fresh we easily stayed here with day trips to locations above. I have no complaints, any minor issues that arose were swiftly handled. I am very happy with our stay and plan to stay here again with my family.
