Just across the road from the sea, a 2 minute walk to a small strand (need a high tide for a swim), just a 5 minute drive to the wonderful Coral Strand for all-tide swimming, less than 10 minutes drive from Clifden (made it in 7) & 15 minutes from Connemara Golf Links. A great base to explore Connemara. A lovely cottage, with a well-appointed kitchen in an open-plan living space with a TV & a fab big dining table. 2 bedrooms on the ground floor (double beds in each) just off this space & a 3rd bedroom (king-size bed) accessed by stairs at the back of the kitchen. A lovely room in the eaves, but watch your head if you're over six feet tall & don't go for this room if you're early to bed or late to rise - it's on a mezzanine above the living space here. That being said, we loved that room & chose it above the others. Fresh linen on all the beds, bathroom & kitchen immaculately clean & a barbecue outside. And it's pet-friendly with a cool host. Can't get much better than this!

The cottage and location was excellent, plenty to do, needed at least another week to explore the amazing scenery- even the weather wasn’t bad - many thanks Lucia. Hopefully we’ll return at some point.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. If anything, the photos don’t do it justice, it’s even more beautiful in real life. The weather was bad but the smell of a turf fire with the wind howling outside was absolute bliss & made up for it. Lucia deserves her super host status - she was very friendly & responsive to messages & left a lovely welcome gift. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this beautiful cottage, but in case it helps, two quick things to note: - the water was a brown colour ( I assume from the aforementioned mentioned turf/bog) & the welcome letter recommends boiling it for tea but to use bottled water for drinking. We arrived late at night (thanks to Lucia’s flexible check in option) & unfortunately the shops were closed so bring bottled water with you! - the 3rd bedroom was a mezzanine upstairs - it’s shown in the photos but we didn’t realize. It means everyone has to go to bed at the same time, which wasn’t a huge issue. We will happily be back!

A fantastic cottage in easy reach of so many places. We have been in many cottages in this area and this was by far the most impressive. Highly recommended.
