Morzine in The Winter Season
With one foot in France and the other in Switzerland, Morzine is at the heart of the largest ski area in the world - The Portes du Soleil! With skiing and boarding for all abilities and ages, the ‘Gateway to the Sun’ gives easy access to 14 resorts, 196 ski lifts, 286 ski runs and 30 snow parks and boarder cross. All the parks feature boxes, tables, wall rides, big air jumps, raised bends, air bags and rails that riders of all levels will be more than happy with!
But it’s not all about skiing… Morzine offers so many activities… indoor and outdoor ice rinks, an aquatic centre, Nordic walking, ski jeering (it involves horses and skis! Check it out!), paragliding and speed riding, ski touring, snowshoeing, snowmobiling… Plus the Portes du Soleil’s high altitude music Festivals: Rock the Pistes and SnowBoxx, which over the last few years have grown in both popularity and headline acts.
The Summer Season
From mid June to the beginning of September Morzine switches to Summer Season fun with loads of activities on offer making the mountains a fantastic summer holiday destination. Chalet Fourmiliere is a fabulous boutique base to enjoy all the area has to offer, and we can of course tailor your summer holiday to suit you. Guests often prefer a bed and breakfast arrangement and a more laid back, less structured holiday. We can help you organise and plan your trip for the best memory making times, whatever you want to do!
Morzine is a world class biking destination, so whether you enjoy downhill, enduro, cross country or road biking, competitions, events or just for fun, we have it covered! There are lift accessed trails, mapped itinerates covering 25 mountain passes within 50km, and of course some of the most famous climbs of Le Tour de France, the world’s biggest, and most prestigious, long distance cycle race!
Morzine’s Parc des Dérêches sports centre boasts an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis courts and skate park. This in addition to the myriad of other activities on offer including a tree top adventure park, horse riding, climbing, canyoning, white water rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, parapent, hiking, golf… the list goes on… The great value Multi Pass Portes du Soleil gives visitors unlimited access to a massive choice of activities and facilities from as little as 2 euros a day.
The Morzine area plays host to many annual events over the summer months - we can help you plan your holiday for maximum fun! Here’s just a few of the things on offer:
June
Chablais Cycle Sportive: Two cycle races of 155km and 100km over the Joux Verte, Corbier, Grand Taillet, Jambaz and the famous Joux Plane Cols with the finish line in Morzine town.
Crankworx: Major mountain biking festival attracting visitors from around the world.
Savoie Cup, Porsche Meet: Some 200 Porsche cars participate in this classic rally with another 400 or so joining the fun – a must for all the Porsche petrol heads out there!
Pass’Portes du Soliel: A massive mountain bike event that spans all of the Portes du Soleil resorts in both France and Switzerland. Riders can enjoy 80 km of routes with lots of pit stops serving up local specialties, with exhibitions and pop up shops of bikes and gear with opportunities to test, and buy, new kit!
July
Spartan Race, European Championships: A 6km obstacle race following a trail which takes competitors across and under logs, through gaps and round other obstacles, over terrain with hidden natural challenges, water and slippery surfaces. Sounds fun!
Kids Kingdom: Loads of activities and shows for children in this dedicated kids week.
Harley Days: The Harley-Davidson Owners Group (HOG) descends on Morzine with around 3,000 bikes in town! There’s demonstrations, some cool Harley stunts and live bands (Status Quo and Toto have headlined in the past).
French Downhill Mountain Biking Championships: The best riders in the country compete on some of the world’s best mountain biking terrain in the downhill – fast, action packed mountain biking with undoubtedly some big air thrown in.
August
Les Feux de Lac: Fabulous festival with music and fireworks around the lake at nearby Montriond.
Morzine Beach: Combining the beach and the mountains with games, live music and, of course, plenty of sand.
The Hauts Forts Trail Running race: Trail race from Morzine to Avoriaz offering beautiful views of the Portes du Soleil while racing around the Hauts-Forts, the highest summit in the Chablais and the Portes du Soleil.
Most of the events are open to anyone, but even if the rigours of sporting activity are not for you, just come and watch and soak up the atmosphere!

Included in our winter pricing is the use of our minibus and Land Rover to drive you to and from the slopes. We are 100 metres from the free bus stop.
There is plenty of parking on site.
