Balsam Hollow is the quietest place on Earth (at night). In the day, there are birds chirping. The smell of the wood the cabin was built from was my first impression of this sun-filled, homier-than-home escape. Strategically placed information (e.g., wifi password, how to turn on the candles, trail safety and usage, house procedures, etc.) answered all of our questions. The squeaky-clean kitchen had all the equipment we needed to prepare every meal at home. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and filled with towels and supplies, and the deck was perfect for watching the total solar eclipse. There are many kid-oriented touches that can be enjoyed by everyone. Jill was an attentive and helpful host. I cannot wait to return to Balsam Hollow.

This was our third year staying at Balsam Hollow and we're already planning to return next year. We just love it here. The cabin has everything we need and just has such a great cozy vibe that we look forward to spending time in the cabin as much as we look forward to exploring the surrounding area. Jill is a fantastic host and has always made herself available to help with any questions and local recommendations for eating and exploring. After 3 years we're still finding new things to do!

Jill’s home was absolutely perfect for our family getaway! Peaceful surroundings with a beautiful view of Whiteface! We have two young children and they just loved the room with the twin beds. Jill was extremely responsive and nice with my messages. We visit the area a couple times a year and we will definitely be booking this home again!

The cabin was warm, cozy and perfect for our ADK trip. Jill was responsive and assisted us with everything we needed. We would love to return in the summertime to enjoy the fire pit and the yard! The views from the living area are BREATHTAKING!! Overall a great experience.
