What a peaceful retreat. The cabin is surrounded by old growth. The walking trails lead to the top with beautiful views, some of the best fall season colors I’ve ever seen. Didn’t see a single soul out there while walking the trails.

Donna was a wonderful host! We had arrived pretty late the first night and had an issue with the toilet leaking. I messaged Donna that night and she was able to come get it fixed immediately the next day! It's a wonderful location in a secluded wooded area. I was a little nervous about getting up the driveway but had no issues with my front wheel drive car. Donna was very helpful and gave us a few tips on how to best get up the driveway! It was a nice cozy little cabin & we definitely enjoyed our stay!

Location was just as described. Very quiet mountain location. The cabin had a very homey feel and the hosts were more than helpful and communication was top notch.

You can feel good renting this place. Communication:Donna is an amazing communicator. she texted to make sure I got in ok. she texted tips and tricks. and she rapidly answered any questions I did have as well as asking if I needed anything. which I didn't, but she cared. cleanliness: I could breathe!! there were no bugs inside. there was no mold. there was no dust. there was no weird smell. there was no hair. it was obviously properly cleaned between every guest. all the dishes/appliances were clean and functioning. nothing was greasy or gritty. I was happy and I doubt even my mom could have found anything unclean about the place. location: so that driveway is real. I was able to get my dinky little manual transmission Ford focus up and down it. If you do drive a stick, get into first gear as fast as you can in first and DON'T STOP. if you start rolling back, use your parking brake until you're collected and allow yourself to slowly roll back to the bottom in neutral and try again from the bottom. The brothers across the lane kindly offered to let me park in their driveway as a backup plan. of course it would be rude to assume, but don't let the driveway be why you don't rent this place. just be careful and controlled going down it. You're an hour and a half from Red River Gorge trailheads. if you're only going to hike 2 trails: auxier arch is stunning. Do be prepared for the trail to spit you out on a gravel road, but if you follow that road you'll get back to the vault toilets and your car. Shelton Trace suspension bridge over Red River. park in the lot. take the trailhead and follow signs for Koomer Ridge Trail. it's lush and has some stunning high parts. near the trail head is Jump Rock. it's an excellent swimming area and apparently the water near that rock is quite deep. you can't miss the locals swimming in that area every evening. do bring in any food and water you need, but there's no entrance fee. the cabin itself is delightfully isolated. the two elderly brothers across the lane are delightful, genuinely sweet, and kind people. they just want to welcome you and be good to you. kitchen: legit everything you need to cook. lots of firewood is nice. you should seriously check out Yoders. it's awesome. please give this place a try. it's a hidden gem and was obviously built with love
