Sassorosso is a wonderful little village. No tarmac, only cobbled stone and stone buildings that fits right in to the steep hill side. The Villa has fantastic views, layout and pool. Great for big groups with many bedrooms, bathrooms and dining possibilities, both indoor and outdoors. Perfect if you want to stay most of your time in the Villa. Bear in mind though that there is an hour drive to Lucca, and two hour drive to Firenze. The final 30 minutes drive up to the Villa is a very narrow and winding road - Spectacular but not the best if you suffer from motion sickness :).
Wir waren zu 13. da und hatten eine wundervolle Woche. Der Blick ist unbezahlbar, die Villa ist schön italienisch eingerichtet. Alles hat sich direkt nach Urlaub pur angefühlt. Der Pool ist schön erfrischend mit Blick ins Tal. Guilia war immer erreichbar und hat uns tolle Sachen empfohlen und uns toll geholfen zB bei Reservierungen. Einen Abend haben wir uns von der bezaubernden Nachbarin bekochen lassen. Es war super lecker. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit! Wir waren sehr glücklich hier!

We had a wonderful stay in beautiful Sassorosso. The view of the Apuan alps and eagles flying over the Garfagnana valley beneath is absolutely gorgeous! At night fireflies surrounded the terrace adding magic to an already decent glass of local brew. We also loved looking for fossils in the sassorosso paving stone! The medieval house feels authentic but is thouoghly renovated and comfortable. Being a group of twelve with children 2-7, the house was ideal with central livingroom and large bedrooms. We made most of our melas in the kitchen, which works well. The pool has steps which makes is easy for children of all ages to enjoy. We had the possibility to order in-house masage (recommended) and dinner made by our charming neighbours. They made us a tasty boar stew, game caught by signore himself around the house! Hosts Giulia and Guido are friendly and helpful. Villa Rubra is easy to recommend, particularly for those looking for a place wcich is also a nature excperience.
Wir waren so gerne in dem Haus. Es ist super schön hergerichtet, der Ausblick ist ein Traum. Als wir angekommen sind, war alles sehr sauber. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, genug Geschirr, Besteck, Pfannen etc. vorhanden. Der Pool, der Außenbereich und auch der Essplatz sind groß genug für alle. Der Ort ist auch super schön und die Nachbarn sehr freundlich. All in all hatten wir eine sehr gute Zeit und würden wiederkommen.

We rent holiday villas/houses with pool in centre Italy (Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio & Rome). I speak dutch, italian, english and french and can also write and read a littlebit german.
