From the moment I entered Ruth's exquisite home (bungalow style with a 1200-square foot renovation for the upstairs living quarters), I knew that I had made the right choice for my one-day stay in San Jose. I was greeted by her son, Michael, who in turn introduced me to the new puppy, Teddy (a mix of Pomeranian and Chihuahua), some of the chickens - Tulip and Petunia, and the family cats (Beatrice, Baxter, and one more). Michael gave me a tour of the whole house and the outdoor living spaces. After I spent the day touring the town, I came home and watched tv with Michael and Ruth and played with Teddy. I really enjoyed my time at Ruth's. She made me feel so welcome. My room was modern - equipped with an iPhone charger on the lamp and lots of storage space in the closet - and cozy. Before leaving the "It's a Wonderful Life" household, I had a chance to jot down my thoughts in the journal (on the desk in my room). My room had lots of light and high ceilings. Hope to return soon!

Ruth has put a lot of thought and creativity into her home. Two fo us stayed - two quite differtne rooms each with a unique touch. You cn tell Ruth has talent when it comes to interiors. Really enjoyed this stay.

my stay began with a lovely breakfast alongside the host and her family! aside from preparing a delicious meal for me, I joined them all at the table for breakfast, which was such a kind and hospitable gesture. the room is as exactly as listed- bright, airy and very comfortable. as the stay progressed, there were a couple of instances in which i felt a bit less comfortable/at ease- but it may have just not been the best fit for me. despite that, the restful room, desk space, and convenient location (close in proximity to the mall, grocery stores), make it a great option for a short term stay in San Jose.

Super friendly host and great location ! A bus which take you downtown and a very safe neighbourhood! If you want to travel and experience as a local, it’s a great place to be
