We had a great experience during our stay at the Scatwell house. The house is extremely large and the bedrooms are well spread out so it is very quiet in each bedroom. Kurt was very helpful and responsive with anything we needed. We also hired Niel as our chef for one night and had probably the best dinner we have ever had. There was a portion of the house that was under construction, and that was communicated by Kurt, but it did not affect our stay. I would definitely stay again.

We were very late in booking so we definitely got a lot more house than we needed but there could be worse problems! From the moment we arrived we were given the full tour and everything was explained and we were made to feel very comfortable. Communication was great. The house, is massive! We were only 7 people so we ended up closing half the house off but we made great use of the snooker table, the large kitchen and all of the bedrooms were very comfortable. It's an old, large house so there are bound to be quirks and the common rooms feel a little cobbled together but we loved walking out the door for morning hikes and returning home in the evenings after a full days adventure. The house definitely has a middle of nowhere vibe being 20 minutes from any store or service but there are neighbors and we loved using it as base for longer excursions. The surroundings are truly beautiful and there are so many great day trips to be had.

Our stay at Scatwell house was magical. The house somehow took us hundred years back in time. And gave busy families the perfect break from reality. When I took my first walk around the house I panicked a little bit. It was so big and I was sure my children would get lost. But I was so wrong!! It took me few hours to realise how much paradise the house was. All those beautiful rooms for grown ups to relax in and for the children to play. Endless possibilities to play hide and seek. Countless games of pool for all age and movie nights before sleep every night. Also the garden has one of the most stunning collection of trees I have ever seen. We loved all the beautiful rooms in the house. We loved our stay on every level. And all communication with the owners was easy. The whole group really recommends Scatwell house.

Our group of 5 couples had a magical stay at Scatwell. The communication leading up to the stay was second to none. It made planning for 10 people very easy. Each room was well appointed and bathrooms were clean and spacious. We loved all the little design details which gave each room it's own mood. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen, and our home-chefs couldn't stop raving about the AGA range! I would recommend this property to anyone.
