A lovingly renovated, “gilded-age vibe” hotel, right on Helper’s historic Main Street. Our suite was one carpeted flight of stairs up from the street entrance to a hall accessing four units. Our door opened onto a kitchen/living area with exterior wall of exposed redbrick. The efficient kitchen held new, full-size appliances, including a dishwasher. A bar-height table and stools had just enough seating for two. A small futon-style couch and coffee table completed the common area. A hallway closet contained a stacked washer & dryer. A 3/4 bathroom and a bedroom with small closet completed the elongated layout. Such clean, fresh and elegant lodging makes a luxurious pied-a-terre for enjoying Helper’s revitalized downtown and surrounding attractions. A few small additions would be nice: a bathroom nightlight or dimmer; entranceway hooks or coat rack; folding luggage racks and wall hooks for the bedroom; blackout shades under the lovely blinds. For modern luxury, this one’s a “recommend!”
