Could be a lovely cottage but unfortunately has fallen into disrepair. Heating was stuck on and no engineer had been booked to fix it during our 3 day stay. The heat became fairly unbearable at times, particularly at night, and prevented us from getting a proper night's rest at any point during the stay. Dishwasher was not functioning despite the host being informed at the time of booking that we would be hosting a meal for nearby family. The kitchen is maybe 2m sq at most and with most of that taken up with a broken dishwasher it made it a very difficult task. The host had agreed to run dishes through her own dishwasher instead, which was still a huge inconvenience however I appreciated that was the best she could offer in the circumstances. Unfortunately when the time came to do this, I was met with abuse and threatening behaviour by her husband, and felt the need to drive away for my own safety before being able to complete my final checks before departure.

The situation of Riverside cottage is wonderful, there is always plenty to watch from the patio. There is a lovely walk along the river bank in both directions and plenty of walks through Hilgay. There is also good parking and even though the cottage is close to the A10 it cannot be heard from inside the cottage.

Great place to stay fabulous views and very friendly hosts home from home. Looking forward to returning.

Fantastic location. Great hosts. Very useful welcome basket. Great communication. A true home from home. Three adults had plenty of room. Loved being able to sit by the river and open the full length windows/patio doors. Fully stocked kitchen equipment wise and bathrooms. Will certainly be back!!
