Our great-grandfather grew up in this house in the 19th century in the heart of the quiet village of Coglio, within a family of 10 people. The two floors (rented separately, with two separate gardens) have been renovated with passion by our Swiss father and Irish mother in the Seventies. My sister and I have been renting the house, happy to keep it alive and thrilled that so many people are appreciating it. Romantic appartment for 3 people, 2 bedrooms (en-suite) in a historical family house, with wooden beams as a ceiling, dining room, small kitchen, small bathroom with shower. Private outdoor terrace with stone table, relaxing chairs and umbrella. At walking distance: 1 "grotto" 1 eco restaurant with pizza, river where you can bathe, bakery van coming in the village 6/7 days, free (public) parking, bus stop. Tourist tax (2 frs . p.person p. night) to be paid onsite.

This place is magicial situated in a beautiful valley. The flat is very nicely arranged and you can see and feel its history. From Coglio you can easily reach a lot of beautiful places and enjoy the nature and peace in Valle Maggia. I can‘t imagine a better host than Claudia. You can feel that she is doing it with joy. She was helpfull, kind and provided us with good advice regarding the excursion and dining possibilities. Grazie mille 🙏🏻

Die kleine Wohnung ist gemütlich, authentisch und mit wunderbarem Gärtchen. Claudia ist sehr sympathisch, unkompliziert und hat immer schnell geantwortet. Wir hatten eine wunderbare Woche in Coglio und kommen sehr gerne wieder.
Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und alles war super. Claudia hat uns einen herzlichen Emfang bereitet und für unsere kleine Tochter Spielsachen vorbereitet. Vielen Dank dafür!
L'alloggio è perfetto e molto accogliente. Ci manca assolutamente niente e Claudia è sempre disponibile per dare buon consigli. Nel paesino si può mangiare in due ristoranti, c'è il pane e altri prodotti del territorio. Un posto da consigliare per chi ama la natura, la tranquillita e la semplicità.

Coglio is a nice, quiet village with few inhabitants, a church, a few fountains, a few stables with, if you are lucky, a few goats or donkeys. In front of the church there is a playground with a ping pong table; in the next village (500 metres on foot), Giumaglio, there is an even larger playground and the possibility of bathing in the river. You can also bathe in Coglio (5 min walking).
The bus stop for Locarno and the upper Maggia Valley is 3 minutes from the house (departures every 30 min.). Car park in front of the church and in front of the cemetery. You can literally start walking/hiking by stepping outside the house.
