Chalet Monchique is in Caldas de Monchique and very close to Portimão and 30 minutes from Aljezur. The mountains near the sea. Pedestrian or mountain bike pathways, thermal area. All pleasures you can get from the mountains, but near the sea! This is my grannies house that we believe to be special and we would like you to experience it and enjoy it as much as we do! Enjoy an old house with charisma and with a stunning view over the valley of Caldas de Monchique. Two steps from thermal facilities, the chapel, the small river and the restaurants and shops on the central square of Caldas de Monchique, but surrounded by the natural environment of mountains, this cottage of romantic inspiration is the ideal place to spend a few days of quiet rest recharging batteries and in direct contact with nature Caldas de Monchique, situated in a valley in Monchique Mountains is a magical place with many small rivers, majestic vegetation and many footpaths surrounded by nature. In Caldas de Monchique there is a spa complex with pools and offering various treatments, and a cluster built very cozy and quaint, with small restaurants and local shops. A perfect place for those who want to enjoy a relaxing and invigorating holiday. There is a bus stop in front of the Cottage.

Heavenly. The house is beautifully decorated and bright with morning and afternoon light, yet still cool on a warm day. We loved the high ceilings, the shutters, the efficient kitchen and sun-splashed lunch/dinner terrace....and the fantastic ground floor with pool table and snug, not to mention the pool! The new pool deck is paved in stone and warms up just enough to help you dry off after a refreshing dip. And we were thrilled to discover the walking path right off the driveway, connecting the house to Caldas de Monchique below. It was a five minute walk to the historic town and its roman baths, restaurants and charming coffee/apertivo bars. Loved the views, loved the space, loved the stories about the history of the house. Slept like a baby. We can't wait to come back.
Localização da casa e óptima para quem não procura a confusão algarvia, óptimo sítio para recarregar baterias. A casa tem divisões grandes, limpas e cuidadas. Contacto com a natureza é maravilhoso. Fica a 20 minutos da praia, é possível juntar praia e serra nas mesmas férias.

You should definitely go around Caldas de Monchique to check out "Fonte dos Amores" lovers’ fountain, the chapel and the small rivers. You can enjoy a nice meal in several restaurants nearby at walkable distance or go to bar "O Tasco" for some local "tapas". In the summer you have diverse animations in villa termal: movies, live concerts, fado, etc. in the main square. Here you will feel at home but surrounded by an almost magic environment, full of mystic and very charming.
Also, you should try the therapeutical properties of Caldas de Monchique that are recognized since the Roman Empire, when these waters were described as “Holly Waters”. These Waters are very relaxing and rich in bicarbonate, fluor, silica and sodium and suitable for respiratory and digestive tract problems, as well as muscles and rheumatic diseases.
