The Taj Majahual, a private luxury residence, is situated in one of the world’s most rustic beach locations on México’s beautiful Yucatán Peninsula in the eastern state of Quintana Roo. In this room configuration, we can accommodate up to 4 guests in two spacious rooms. The Gourmet Kitchen features stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, gas range, and a refrigerator with double French doors and purified water Ice Maker. The sink features a premium faucet and separate spout that dispenses purified water. The Island Bar features a recessed prep/staging area and is layered entirely in hand painted Talavera tile. Six bar stools are hand crafted out of bambu and straw, all locally harvested. There is ample cupboard space featuring custom zebrawood cabinetry. Cooking utensils and dinnerware are available. The Family Room offers ocean vistas from three sides and features locally crafted furniture. The sofa and love seat are hand crafted out of bamboo with cushions covered with vibrant imported fabric. There are also two artisan made barrel chairs constructed of local equipal and are finished with padded leather seats and arm rests. The room is appointed with original oil paintings, terra cotta pottery and a fossil-laden limestone shelf. French doors open off of this room onto the Master Terrace, where you will find sweeping views of the ocean. There are ceiling fans and floors of handmade Saltillo tile, spotted with Hand-painted Talavera tile throughout the master space. The residence is designed to have flow through cross ventilation, and all upper level bedrooms feature optional air conditioning. Two conveniently located palapas beckon those who wish to lounge or picnic under the shelter they offer. There is an invigorating outdoor shower on the ground level, featuring a stunning abstract tile mosaic. Titled “Convergence,” it pays homage to the harmonious blend of the elements here at the Taj Majahual. Its mesmerizing design will summon fond recollections as you shed the activities of the day under a cool cascade of fresh water. The Sultan’s Suite, Gourmet Kitchen, Living Room, and Laundry of the Taj Majahual are separated from all other bedrooms by a breezeway. These spaces are available only to those staying in the Sultan’s Suite, unless the entire residence is rented by one party. The beach front of the Taj Majahual property is controlled by its owners. Exclusive access is granted to guests staying at the Taj Majahual. The Dining Temple and Plunge Pool, located in the breezeway, are available to all guests staying at the Taj Majahual. Following is a description of the rooms: THE SULTAN'S SUITE Enter this room and step into luxury once only enjoyed by the Sultan. Your first impression will be the dramatic Moorish design of the built in headboard. The arched design is inlaid with pearlescent tile that sparkles during the day and shimmers and glows at night for perfect romantic ambience, a virtual Taj “Moor-aj” if you will. Luxuriate day or night in the king size bed with pillow top mattress and silky 100% cotton sateen sheets. Lie in bed and enjoy the ocean view. Ample storage is provided in the handmade zebrawood closet and dresser. There is a dressing table in the bedroom. Bath decor brings in the pearlescent beauty of the bedroom by using white and black pearlescent tile. The bath features a Jacuzzi tub - big enough for two - with a hand shower. (use subject to the availability of water and at the caretaker’s discretion.) Also, there is a double vanity and walk in shower with imported solid brass hardware, and separate commode area. The balcony door opens onto the main balcony that is shared with the living area. THE JUNGLE ROOM This room is inspired by the Costa Maya - where the jungle meets the sea. Step out of the jungle room onto your own private deck overlooking the Caribbean and you'll see how the room imitates nature. The Jungle Bedroom features a private entrance, private bathroom, use of the plunge pool and of common areas, a private ocean-front deck, queen-size pillow top bed, writing desk, closet with drawers, cube fridge, wireless internet.
