Akama resort is a good place to stay in Hervey Bay. Perfect location for the whale watching tours, and not too far to walk in to the centre and along the historic pier. Very comfortable.
Does not have the usual Airbnb charm and personality, but very spacious and clean space and friendly staff in reception. Essentially a large condo in a hotel like complex. We booked as a one bedroom, so the other bedroom doors (down a hallway) were locked; kitchen and living room could easily accommodate a large family. A really great location if you’re using it as a jumping off point for Fraser Island - the Akama Resort actually assisted with setting up a guided tour for us that was absolutely wonderful.

Akama is a fantastic place to stay in Hervey Bay. It is spacious, clean and has lovely friendly hosts. It is walking distance to restaurants and cafes and the pier. Inside the apartment is everything you need for a holiday. Totally recommended.
Good space, great ammenities and great location. Easy checkin and checkout. Would definitely stay again.

Nestled among lush tropical gardens exuding an atmosphere of peace and tranquility and just a stone’s throw from the Marina bars, club, shopping, beaches and restaurants where fine food will titillate even the most discerning palette. All the apartments at Akama Resort are fully air conditioned with large furnished balconies, bi fold doors that open the width of the living area to bring the outside in, full size kitchens and private laundry. Lift to all levels, key less entry and undercover secure parking. Akama Resort is a self catering property.
