The place was clean it was easy to find things like dishes and towels. The beds were comfortable. Parking was easy to find on the street. We felt safe. The seating in the backyard and swing chair in the front were nice to relax on. There was a strong cleaning agent smell as soon as you opened the door to get in but the next day we opened the back door to let some air in and it was better. The couch and seat are kind of worn and uncomfortable. The shower was not very comfortable, it is the portable bath tub with a shower curtain all around that pulls in once the shower starts running leaving very little room to clean yourself. The price was reasonable

The house is right next to Virginia Union University, with such close proximity comes all the benefits of a college town. Most restaurants are open late into the evening and delivery services (Grubhub/ UberEats) are readily available. There is a homemade doughnut shop within a moderate walking distance for breakfast/ coffee. We made good use of the the hosts recommendations for local breweries and went swimming in the river nearby once temps reached over 100 degrees (later summer). Finally we were only 10min away from Richmond Raceway and easily made it to/ from the NASCAR race without traffic. Overall everything was great, AC works well, we made good use of the kitchen/ fridge, and shower (which is an olde style tub, very cool)
