Welcome to Flora House! This attractive cottage-style house was built in 1903 when Governor’s Harbour was an important pineapple growing area, exporting to Europe and the United States. Flora House has recently been completely renovated, from top to bottom, and includes everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay on Eleuthera! Distances: Beach: 1.4 miles - 17 minute walk (moderate hill) Grocery store: 100 meters - 4 minute walk Restaurant: 150 meters - 3 minute walk The stylish, well-chosen furnishings and latest modern appliances have been carefully considered, blending in well the ‘olde with the new’ and making Flora House a most comfortable, well equipped and ‘feel good’ holiday house situated in the historical quarter of Governors Harbour. Flora’s living room, kitchen and dining area open onto the terrace, the swimming pool and sunbathing deck. The three en-suite bedrooms are on the second floor and open onto a balcony with views over the tropical garden, out towards the bay, westwards and beyond. Each bedroom has a lavish en-suite bath finished in coral stone. Two of the bedroom suites have king beds and the third has a queen. The house is supported by a backup power generator in the event of a power outage on the island. Flora House is conveniently close to the main hub of Governor's Harbour. There are two supermarkets, several restaurants & a great little coffee shop, gift shops, and two banks (with Atm services) nearby. A provisioning service is available on the island, as well as taxi services to/from the airport. Simply contact us with any queries you may have. We had an amazing stay. Location was perfect. We highly recommend having dinner at Tippys at least one night. We originally had booked a Cigatoo Apartment with Squires Estate but the AC unit was broken and they contacted us ahead of time and upgraded us for free which was so gracious of them! They were always just a message away and were always responsive. Thank you for an incredible stay, we will be back!
Our recent stay at Flora house exceeded our expectations! We were a group of 5 (grandpa, parents and two kids ages 3 and 6) and the house was the perfect size. Ample space to hang out on the 1st floor and lovely ensuite bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The pool was fabulous - the kids loved the shallow ledge that ran the length - plenty of space to play, jump, swim, etc. and a great deck surrounding it all. There's also a beautiful wrap-around porch (lovely to sit and enjoy a cocktail) and a massive 2nd floor deck with views of the town and ocean. Location was perfect - walkable to Governor's Harbor shops and restaurants. The Buccaneer is 2 min away and the adjoining shop, Coco Cream, sells ice cream, gifts and a small selection of wine / spirits. Bristol Wines is great for stocking up. Beautiful beaches nearby including French Leave, Ten Bay, Twin Coves, Cocodiamo & more (ranging from 5-20 min drive). Friday Fish Fry was great. Don't miss Tippy's for dinner and Norma's for cover-ups :)
Beautiful house in central location. A very quiet place, a base to explore beautiful Eluthera. We really enjoyed our stay and would come again. The house was well stocked, it was a lovely surprise to have coffee, wine and a few snacks. The decor is beautiful.

We loved our stay! The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful, from providing tips to local running spots to bringing life jackets over for the kids. The house feels private, yet close and walkable to a couple restaurants. We explored the island two different days and Governors Harbour is the perfect spot in the middle to do so. Also a super quick drive (minutes) to French Leave Beach which is perhaps the most beautiful yet still very private and untouched beaches we have ever been to.

The town of Governors Harbour, with its stores and restaurants, is right outside your front door. French Leave Beach, which has been ranked top 20 in the world, is an approximate 15 minute walk or 3-minute drive from the property.
Eleuthera is a little slice of paradise! Life here is like a whimsical adventure, where power outages are just nature's way of reminding us to embrace the candlelit charm of our island evenings. During the off-season, our restaurants and stores play a game of hide-and-seek, adding an exciting twist to the hunt for the perfect meal or souvenir. And oh, the bugs and roosters! They're like the quirky co-stars in our island comedy, providing the soundtrack to our days and nights. Despite these quirks, we wouldn't trade our unique island life for anything. After all, where else can you experience such delightful chaos and still call it paradise?
