I've always spent my new years in the hustle bustle of the city. This year one of my friend's wanted to get away from it all and spend it close to the nature (which he generally does but first time for me). We found this brilliant property Montagna. Loved the pictures on the listing and went for it. And it was just the beginning. I guess the journey started with our way to the property on a 4x4. Our jaws almost literally dropped when we saw the way up. But Jayesh, who is a jack of multiple trades, one of which is driving 4x4 up a hill like a boss, made the ride up look easy. Bumpy as hell, but he did it with elegance. Once we reached the property we were exhausted and wanted to just rest. But the beauty of the place calls to you to explore. It has an energy of it's own. We received the warmest of welcomes by the staff. Fresh juice and fruits to rejuvenate you and the smiles and the warmth to make you feel like you belong. Then walks the host in. What do I tell about him.. here is a person who loves nature so much that he's gone up and beyond to make sure his own property doesn't become a hindrance. And yet built a paradise. He is warm, caring and above all is genuine. He poured his soul and heart into the place, all the way ensuring he adds to the nature not taking from it. His simple Good morning to are you guys comfortable carried the sentiment that he cared. And he genuinely cared. Now talking about the food, Dheem bandu.. he's a treasure found at the hill top. The food he prepared was delicious. The kind of food you get when people who care for you cook. Coming to my own experience, words will fall short of describing it but I'll leave you with this.. This trip I will hold it close to my heart.
