Strategically located within an hour's drive from scenic mountain vistas, hiking trails, woodland overlooks, waterfalls, lakes and streams in almost any direction. Drive west into George Washington National Forest, east, north and south to Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Appalachian Trail, Shenandoah National Park, Wintergreen, Massanutten, Sherando Lake, Natural Chimneys, Luray Caverns, Shenandoah Caverns, and more. Closer to home we are a short walk to many fine dining options including an unusual assortment of intercultural cuisine as well as to more traditional fare including several local breweries and wine shops. Our walkable downtown also features Court Square Theater, several art galleries and gift shops that carry the work of local artists. This part of the Shenandoah Valley is also home to a remarkable network of artisans and craftspeople whose studios you may visit at your leisure on the Harrisonburg-Rockingham County Artisans Trail, of which David's Gallery of Pyrographic Art is one and whose studio is literally one of the adjoining rooms off your lounge which you may visit by request. We invite you to take in the gallery ambiance at your leisure and David will be happy to give you a personal tour should you be interested to learn more about his unusual work. Our Airbnb is also conveniently located between James Madison University about 1.5 miles to our southeast and Eastern Mennonite University about 1.5 miles to our northwest. We are just a half block from Morrison Park, several playgrounds, a track, basketball, pickle ball, and tennis courts, a picnic shelter, and grassy areas for lawn sports and games.

One of the most strategically-located Airbnbs in town--we are within a comfortable walk of our downtown culinary arts district restaurants, breweries, Court Square Theater, to a park with four separate playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, and more. For what is not within walking distance, Harrisonburg has both Lyft, Uber, taxi service and several City Bus Routes just a half block away that link James Madison University, Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg's downtown, Valley Mall and everything in between.
Parking:
We can generally make space available for up to four small cars for your parking convenience immediately in front of our house with advance notice. We ask that our guests park in front of our house on our side of the street so as not to impose on our neighbors. If for whatever reason space is not available in front there are options behind our house around Waterman Elementary School when school is not in session, just a short walk across the street behind our house. Parking is free everywhere in our neighborhood.
