Perfect location in the New Town. Traditional B&B in R L Stevenson’s former home, complete with 4 poster bed. If you prefer a shower to a bath, may not be for you.

Wonderful location - best in Edinburgh. Beautiful room and bathroom. I could have spent my entire stay in just the room alone which is full of beautiful books and art. A lovely welcome from the host and family. We were very well looked after. Thank you

The photos do not do this place justice, this is a real treat, a definitely worth the price of those wanting to experience both a historical & welcoming home. The hosts are extremely knowledgeable about the area & history of Edinburgh. The breakfast is also very nice. 100% would book again, a highlight of our trip!

We had a fantastic stay at Felicitas’ beautiful Georgian home in Edinburgh. It feels like a very warm, loved family home, with lots of history (particularly interesting if you’re an avid reader of books). We had a peaceful nights sleep in the lovely 4 poster bed and a lovely filling breakfast the next morning.. I agree with some of the other reviews that the photos don’t do it enough justice. Would definitely stay again next time in Edinburgh.

This is one of the most incredible places that my husband and I have ever stayed in. It is truly a proper old-school Bed and Breakfast experience. I cannot say enough about how welcome this family made us feel in their home. John and Felicitas went above and beyond to make us feel like we were staying with a long-lost family member. They gave fantastic recommendations that helped to guide our stay in town and helped us work out a solution when the temperamental Scottish weather threatened our best-laid plans. Breakfast every day was fresh and delicious. The conversations were warm and interesting and the accommodations more than comfortable. The house is a treasure trove of history and character, absolutely packed with fascinating antiques, beautiful art, and literary easter eggs. If we return to Edinburgh a dozen times, we will never miss the opportunity to stay here. Thank you, John, Felicitas and family for making our stay in Edinburgh one of our favorite holiday memories yet!
