As soon as we entered the building, we immediately noticed a bad smell coming from the common area. As soon as we walked into the kitchen area, we noticed cockroaches running around on the dining table, as well as the paper towels. Walking into the bathroom, we noticed how there was black buildup between the tiles and the bathmat was also filthy. A clear sign that this wasn't maintained very well. Back in the lounge area, we moved a sofa away from the wall because the air conditioner was not working and as soon as we pulled the sofa away from the wall, there were cockroaches and spiders behind it. We had to use our Glen 20 (not the right product, but we had no other choice) to deal with these insects. When trying to make breakfast the morning after we slept, we noticed that the kettle was also quite smelly and we could not boil water with it. There also isn't anywhere to put rubbish in the common area; we had to leave the rubbish outside the front door. Another issue is that the advertising was not clear; we ended up having to share the kitchen and common area with other guests. This was a great surprise to us as there were people that invited themselves in in the middle of the night. When I wanted to bring up this issue with the host Leo, I ended up talking to a man and woman. While I believe the man was Leo, he did barely any of the talking compared to the woman. Leo said that this is not a 5 star hotel and that it's no fault of theirs that there are cockroaches; they simply made their way into the rooms. After we had checked out at 10am in the morning, I received a text from the host asking if we had taken their bed sheet. We had actually brought our own ben linens due to the current COVID situation. We used our own bed sheets and put all their belongings in the original place so we asked them to check properly. After 5 mintues, the woman called again, this time accusing us of stealing her bed sheets. At this point, I was so angry that I pulled my car over and told her that their property had so many issues that there would be no reason for me to take her dirty bed sheets. I've been accused of being a bad guest but all it takes is to check my previous guest record to see that this is not the case.
