I went to Durango for the eclipse and stayed a week. I reserved the Nubes 3 room, but was given instead a very large, beautiful room in the front of the building. I loved it. I felt at home immediately and it became my comfortable base for the week. I cannot say what the other rooms are like, but this was one of the nicer places I have ever stayed. Highly recommended.

What a great place to stay in Durango! Location: Perfect! A few blocks from downtown, Cathedral, main Plaza de Armas, restaurants, city tour buses, Constitucion Walk. It is quiet and safe. House: A beautiful historic house with all the modern conveniences, great upkeep, well stocked, beautiful decor including the host’s artwork! Host: Pilar was friendly and easy going. She met us at the door for check in and key exchange and gave us a City map and some direction. Replies to all communication was immediate including bringing a missing hair dryer within minutes! Things to do: Of course any churches are amazing. We enjoyed the Tunnel Walk, aerial tram, city bus tour (get it at Plaza de Armas, free for seniors). The museums are great and often housed in beautiful historic palaces. We liked museum de La Ciudad, casa de cultura citibanamex, museum de arte sacro (in main cathedral), museum Francisco Villa, regional museum, to name a few.

Pilar is an excellent host. This was my second time staying here. She is so accommodating and easy to work with. I will definitely stay here any time I’m visiting!
