Nice location on the lake. Enjoyed setting outside looking at the ducks and enjoyed the warm breeze. Lisa & Stuart's home was clean with many amenities. The beds in the house and the guest cabin were very comfortable. Lisa gave us a "heads-up" on the location of a rare bird that we were able to find.

Great location and great place to stay! We were greeted with a welcome basket of goodies which we appreciated after a long day of travel. Home was very comfortable and had fabulous views. Beds were comfortable and especially loved the bedding. Owners anticipate guests needs and are very thoughtful. Great recommendations for local food and restaurants. Communication was easy throughout booking process and checking in and checking out. Owner was prompt with replies.

I was planning on doing a “pros” and “cons” as I do for most of my reviews, but, my husband and I literally can’t think of any “cons.” So here are all of the pros of this beautiful lake house: 1) Inside house: There are plenty of rooms - each are very well stocked and even have extra items under the vanities or in the closet. The beds are absolutely comfortable, it made waking up at 6:30a difficult. The amount of natural light in the living room is incredible and you have full view to see the lake and watch the wildlife from the couch. Couches and chairs were all cozy. They had a Keurig coffee station and to-go cups for you early go-ers out there. For us it felt like our “home in paradise” and it was a complete and wholesome experience in the house. 2) Outside: plenty of parking (including sheltered parking), plenty of outdoor seating, 2 fire pits, a lake dock with tables, and a basketball hoop. Beautiful landscaping with a variety of tropical plants and cacti. 3) Birding: it is within close proximity to all/or most of the RGV’s birding hotspots and wildlife refuges. At the lake house, we saw over 20 bird species! Definitely a birders paradise here! 4) Lisa & Stuart are wonderful, while we didn’t get to meet them directly, they answered all of our questions, we’re sure we’ll be staying here again.

What a gem…. Great for a family or individual staying alone. Stayed there by myself for work meetings and it had everything I needed. You need a hot spot for stronger service but I was able to do everything I needed. This is also the type of place where you want to unplug and just relax… great beds, towels, appliances, coffee set up. So peaceful.

This is an oasis in the RGV. The house is cozy, well kept and in a very relaxing location. The black-bellied whistling-ducks will serenade you and add to this charming place. Lisa and Stuart provide tons of little touches such as extra food, etc. to make it like you’re at your own home. It’s really conveniently located to both South Padre and great birding spots like Santa Ana NWR and Bentsen SP. We’ve stayed here twice and will be sure to come again.
